[The live alert goes off shortly before noon. There’s a navy blue beer bike parked in front of the hotel, surrounded by members of pep!pep!, LiliS, and BARiTONES.]

Good morning!

The weather’s getting nice and it’s a good day for some sightseeing, so we’re breaking out the pep!mobile and making a day of it.

For those of you not familiar with party bikes, this is a human-powered vehicle that accommodates twelve pedalers - six to a side. The bench at the back can comfortably seat two, and uncomfortably fit as many as you want. There’s also standing room in the middle for someone to serve refreshments to the passengers, as is tradition. The idea is to drink and enjoy each other’s company as we make our way to various points of interest.

This is a triple live! Joining us is Amaranth, to help us explore, and Yvette, who will be helping with the drinks. We also have a brief survey to fill out for anyone who is inclined.

That wasn’t really the Fright Zone’s aesthetic. It was. . . practical. Concrete and wiring and pipes and stuff.

I don’t know, I’d say it’s pretty practical too? I mean, it’d be tough for intruders to claim ignorance. “Oops, sorry, we thought the Fright Zone was a vacation destination, not Horde territory. Silly us!”

Doesn’t exactly work.

Though also misleading if it had such an industrial architecture.

I think the “fright” part had more to do with the occupants, not the landscape.

And how did they end up recruiting you?

I grew up there. I’d never been outside the borders before. Not sure “recruit” is the right word, really.

So this is your first field trip away from home?

Mm, no. I remember “visiting” another kingdom at least once, but I was this age — so probably not too long before this “field trip”.

[Gestures to herself when she says “this age”, flicking her tail. ]

Is visiting an euphemism for conquering?

Yes. The credentials are starting to look good on paper. But I've been burned before with a fancy resume.

I was thinking more of making the most of this Live and checking out the palace up close. Always good to have a second home away from the office away from home.

If it's anything like the other buildings, it's fancy on the outside, nothing much on the inside.
