[ At some point during the day, Talon has visited each unit to deliver the preliminary assignments for the protection plan. Maybe he knocked on a unit's door, maybe he slipped a note into someone's pocket, maybe he used morse code! However it was delivered, units have their preliminary assignments and may use this post to discuss them amongst themselves. ]

• Units do not have access to the complete list yet. Talon would have explained that this is because it may still be adjusted if there are any objections at this stage, if asked.


• Talon is present in WC's thread and I am 100% open to getting tagged there if anyone wants a thread with him and doesn't wanna ping for whatever reason. ]

We discussed our preferences under the assumption we were choosing who would be protecting us, not just who we'd be protecting. Why should I care who we're tasked to protect...? Obviously, the most important part is what unit has the responsibility of keeping us alive.

And AlcheME absolutely didn't make that list. They meet that bar even less if we're meant to trust them based on an vague community agreement, rather than a partnership where we're accountable to each other.

You should care who we're tasked to protect because there's more to our relationship with ☆ZRAEL than just a singular specific protection game.

And why do you think AlcheME! doesn't meet the bar? What do they have to gain from not adhering to the agreement?

It's actually probably better since they have ties to both you and Duality.

If that's your argument, why did we even provide preferences in the first place? No one has anything to gain by not adhering to the agreement. But we specifically chose the units that we had evidence would act reliably, because people don't act rationally. That risk seems particularly high with the liar/trickster unit.

What do you know? This is a strategic, reciprocal arrangement! They should protect us because they're getting protected as well! This isn't a situation where our lives and victory are based on the whims of a random unit, so we go crawling on our knees to them to make sure they hold up their end of the agreement! That's precisely why we choose which units we were willing to be matched with!!!
