[ At some point during the day, Talon has visited each unit to deliver the preliminary assignments for the protection plan. Maybe he knocked on a unit's door, maybe he slipped a note into someone's pocket, maybe he used morse code! However it was delivered, units have their preliminary assignments and may use this post to discuss them amongst themselves. ]

Units do not have access to the complete list yet. Talon would have explained that this is because it may still be adjusted if there are any objections at this stage, if asked.

That's not what I'm saying.

The character of the individuals on sensitIV doesn't matter to me right now. Good bad, stupid, smart, whatever. . . what matters is whether the people on this unit are comfortable enough trusting sensitIV as a unit a with our lives.

At least two people here have incidents with members of sensitIV that make them understandably wary to give that trust. Those same two people understand that yours and Abi's connection to the unit means we can at least believe that they won't leave us hanging.

You're not wrong in that sensitIV probably has individuals who are trustworthy and "good." But they're not wrong for being worried that the members who aren't may somehow override the rest of the team when it matters the most.

This isn't an arrangement that's set in stone. If SensitIV fails to come through, then we die--once--which is something we've always known could happen anyway, with or without this agreement. In fact, it did happen--so we'd be no worse off than the first time the collars happened.

If the outcome of trusting them is our deaths, then their failure will then made publicly known to everyone--and sensitIV would be removed from the agreement and we would be arranged with some other unit to protect us. It would place a very, very large target on SensitIV's backs to be the one who reneged on their promise.

I don't really know if some people on sensitIV really care about their public reputation.

But you're right; we can't do any worse than we did last time, which was have our heads blown off, so. . .

Caring about their reputation isn't the same as caring about their safety. And it's one thing when you take an action without consulting your unitmates, knowing that ultimately your actions shouldn't reflect on the the rest of them to the majority of people, as opposed to the group agreeing to break a pact that they've all already agreed to. If you are the only unit out of twelve to act deliberately in the disinterest of the majority, then you open yourself to retaliation.

However, that's just my opinion. If things work out adversely, I'll accept responsibility.

No. Why would you need to accept responsibility? You aren't sensitIV. Their choices are theirs, not yours.

You, Hurricane, and King are only willing to even consider this because Levi is one of my people, and I'm the only one that really seems to be of any mind to actually want to accept that. So if things go wrong, it's also on my shoulders.

And we're not going to let you take responsibility for someone else's choices just because you have more faith in them than we do. That's fine; the three of us might be wary, but that doesn't mean you having faith is wrong. And it definitely doesn't mean that you're responsible if they fuck it up.
