[ At some point during the day, Talon has visited each unit to deliver the preliminary assignments for the protection plan. Maybe he knocked on a unit's door, maybe he slipped a note into someone's pocket, maybe he used morse code! However it was delivered, units have their preliminary assignments and may use this post to discuss them amongst themselves. ]

• For convenience sake, please assume all units know who they are assigned to protect, and who has been assigned to protect them


• Units do not have access to the complete list yet. Talon would have explained that this is because it may still be adjusted if there are any objections at this stage, if asked.


• Talon is present in WC's thread and I am 100% open to getting tagged there if anyone wants a thread with him and doesn't wanna ping for whatever reason. ]

Was there ever any ideas on what an alliance was supposed to entail? Just like a non-aggression pact or what?

Not... really. I think so far it's mostly been being posted the question of whether we're interested in alliances of some sort? I'm not entirely sure what terms we should be asking for...

...No point in asking for something we can't deliver. So no "we'll always protect you" or any other bullshit. Basically "we'll pick you last" is the best we can do.

Mm... I suppose it's true that we can't say that we'll always be able to help. Or that always prioritizing one unit will always be useful...

That ends up sounding a little... underwhelming, though.

But they'd know we'd stick to it, no matter who's playing that day. And that's not something every team can say.

...that's true. I... I think it's true that everyone on this team would take that kind of agreement seriously. Even the newcomers strike me as the sorts who would.

They don't got any reason not to, anyways. We're a good deal. I dunno how many other teams could stack up, though.

I suppose at least... whatever happened in the past, I get the impression others think of us as straightforward and honorable.

We could probably at least offer that to two teams and not have problems? That we'd refrain from hitting them except as a last resort, like you said.

Ah... I think it'll help, at the very least. I can think of plenty other things to worry about, but not... really ones we can do much about.

If it's a matter of saving rather than not hitting... we can cross that bridge when we come to it. Probably?

"Saving" is a pretty broad idea, anyways. That's not something we can really promise.

Even if we could... I don't wanna attach that to only one team. We should be able to act how we want.

I think... I feel the same way. I don't have that many close friends, here, so I don't know if others feel like this, but it'd feel a little unfair to save the same unit every time... or, rather, it'd feel like ignoring all the others.

Last time we listed up the teams we absolutely didn't wanna hit, everybody had different ones. So picking just one'd definitely feel like playing favorites.

And not picking one gives us flexibility to decide who needs our help most in the moment...?

Yeah. Or who we wanna help most, whether they need it or not. If everybody's opinion's really supposed to count and all...
