only Baritones members with the proper ability purchased can alter the contents of dreams, though, instead of just being a regular witness to them . in other words if you're okay with Ardyn fucking with your dreams let me know.

EDIT: you'll be able to interact with other dreams (as if you were a regular person in them, eg you're able to talk and interact with objects, if someone is going to try to stab you you can still try to avoid it or fight them) but if the contents of the dream itself designate a Certain Thing you don't have any control over it like a Baritones member would. ))

[He finds himself surrounded by darkness.

He looks around. There doesn't appear to be anything here, but there could be.

Tense, he reaches for the small lantern he keeps clipped to his belt loop, these days. Does he find it?]

[Anything that he carries on him habitually is on him now.]

[he flips on the light to its highest brightness setting and looks around to see if he can make out anything.]

[Except to the left, somewhere in the distance, where there is a faint pinprick of light.]

[off we go, toward the light]

[It grows nearer, but not as fast as he might expect. It's as though the universe is holding its breath here, frozen and forgotten. Any progress takes...

[By the time he's close enough so that he can see the pinprick of light is from what looks like a window into someplace else, his legs ache from walking.]

[sore muscles are normal. He can go a little farther to investigate the window.]

[Now that he's nearer, he can see that it looks less like a window and more like someone cut a rectangle into the middle of the darkness to reveal what lies on the other side.]

[And what lies on the other side is a kitchen.]

[It gleams, modern, chrome, and threatening. A rack of knives tall as a child is set into a long countertop; pots and pans hang from above. There are a pair of stoves, a walk in freezer with a very prominent pad-lock, and a refrigerator, tall and gleaming.]

[Someone has dropped a plate of cake on the floor.]

[And there, in the darkness, crouched at the base of the window, is the hunched over form of a person.]

[He walks over, cautiously, holding out his lantern.]

...Hello?

[The floor is scattered with discarded scraps of metal. In the lantern's light, you can make out Hurricane: slumped and disheveled, a bloody screwdriver clasped loosely in his hand. The sleeves of his shirt are soaked through with blood. The spot where his right leg ought to be is empty.]

...Cobalt?

Hurricane?!

Oh my gosh, what happened?!

[picking his way around the ...leg pieces(?) to hustle over to Hurricane's side]

Wha... why are you here?

Beats me.

[Crouching]

May I see your arms?

[He hesitates a beat, uncertain - moves at last to offer one of his arms, the gesture unsteady.]

[carefully peeling back his sleeves to look at the damage. Is it still bleeding?]

What is this place?

[It is, in fact, still bleeding.]

...dunno. Other side of the cabinet, I guess.

Place where the mirrors go.

[he takes off his blazer and uses it to gently but firmly apply pressure to the wounds]

Mirror...?

[He looks out into the kitchen]




...Is ... Is this "the house"?

Are we in a mirror right now?

Wasn't even a mirror. I thought it was okay, cause there wasn't - wasn't even one in the room.

But the stupid cabinets were all shiny.

Is there anyone -- or anything -- else in here?

[Shakes his head.]

Then... how did you get these?

[Checking to see if it's still bleeding]

[He is, in fact, still bleeding. One of the gashes on each arm follows the vein pretty closely.]

[He just - shrugs, stiff and kind of awkward.]

[we_meet_again]

[now that he's looking at the wound more closely, and he can see the blood-covered screwdriver glinting in the lamplight, he's able to put it together.

He just... pulls Hurricane in for a hug]
