[ if you're the sort to dream tonight - - you might find an odd occurrence happening. some may be experiencing other's dreams entirely, or may a sort of disturbance in them.... ]

((DREAM POST! It's up to you if you want to be aware you're in another's dream if you visit one or if you just fit into a "role" there (eg becoming a sibling in a happy family dream).

only Baritones members with the proper ability purchased can alter the contents of dreams, though, instead of just being a regular witness to them . in other words if you're okay with Ardyn fucking with your dreams let me know.

EDIT: you'll be able to interact with other dreams (as if you were a regular person in them, eg you're able to talk and interact with objects, if someone is going to try to stab you you can still try to avoid it or fight them) but if the contents of the dream itself designate a Certain Thing you don't have any control over it like a Baritones member would. ))

[Gets his leg up under him and reaches up, taking hold.]

[Pulls him up! And will provide an arm for Hurricane to hold onto while he hops over to the window]

[He leans on Cobalt so that he can make it over to the window, but when they get there, he hesitates.]

[we_meet_again]

[Since they're here, Cobalt cautiously reaches out to test the window. What happens if he touches it?]

[crossmyheartandhope]

[It's smooth and solid, chill to the touch. It feels like glass.]

[we_meet_again]

[Satisfied, he stops and looks at Hurricane.]

Ready to give this a shot?

Yeah.

Yeah, here goes nothing, I guess.

[He reaches out, hand kind of unsteady, to touch the window - comes up short, hand pressed against the invisible barrier just like Cobalt.]

[we_meet_again]

Alright.

Shut your eyes and try to imagine... the surface of the window, once hard, begins to soften under your hand. What does it feel like as it begins to give? Can you feel your fingers digging in as it yields?

As you press, the surface gets thinner and softer, until it's no stronger than the surface of a soap bubble. And your hand slips through. What does it feel like as your hand is suddenly touching nothing but air? What is the temperature of the kitchen on the other side? Can you imagine how much brighter it's gotten?

[He closes his eyes, careful and a little reluctant, half sure that when he opens them he'll be alone again. He follows along with what Cobalt's saying, though - pictures the glass changing. He pictures what waits on the other side, where the kitchen is bright and gleaming and there's cake on the floor.]

[He pictures not being here. God, he wants to not be here. He wants to be anywhere else, so, so badly.]

[Hurricane starts to hyperventilate, breath coming too fast and shallow. The space beyond the kitchen drops a couple of degrees of brightness, and he may or may not be shaking a little.]

[Because he's done this before. He's done this before. He's done this before he's done this before he's DONE this before, he's scratched and pounded and screamed and cried and nothing WORKED nothing worked and he's never going to get out he's never going to





Cobalt's voice slices through, soft and even and someone else's voice, and Hurricane reaches out, blindly, to try and reassure himself he's actually there.]

[we_meet_again]

[Cobalt takes Hurricane's hand and gives it a reassuring squeeze. He puts his other hand on his shoulder, bracing him.]

You're doing great. Slow breaths, try to relax and clear your mind... Feel the barrier start to give...

[crossmyheartandhope]

[He takes a shaking breath in, then another.]

[The space between his brows furrows.]

[The spot where his fingers press against the glass starts to dip in, a centimeter at a time - and then stops.]

[He presses hard - harder. He bites at his lip and shakes his head.]

I can't.

[we_meet_again]

[gives his hand another squeeze and speaks gently]

This is a dream. This barrier doesn't actually exist. You can leave this place... and you're already doing it, Hurricane. It's working.

[crossmyheartandhope]

[His hand shakes; the window pushes back, pressing his fingers back out into the darkness, away from the kitchen.]

...I can't.

[we_meet_again]

[searches his expression]





Alright.

Let's take a break.

[crossmyheartandhope]

[He just... nods, the tiniest bob of his head.]

...could you just... just sit with me for a little?

[we_meet_again]

Of course.

[he is still holding Hurricane's hand, which he can use to help Hurricane move to - and sit down - wherever he wants.]

[crossmyheartandhope]

[He just lowers himself to the ground by the window again, and tucks his forehead in against his knees.]

[we_meet_again]

[Sits down next to him and wraps an arm around his shoulders]

You did really well! I'm very impressed!

[crossmyheartandhope]

[Leans into it. His voice comes out muffled by his knees.]

I didn't do anything.

[we_meet_again]

You think so?

Mmmm, I've gotta make a confession.

[crossmyheartandhope]

[He goes... very still.]

[This sounds an awfully lot like the part where Cobalt says, "I was never really here," and disappears, and the dream turns into a nightmare.]

...yeah?

[we_meet_again]

I have no idea how lucid dreaming works!

But despite neither of us knowing what we were doing, you managed to change the brightness in this place, and even put your hand through the barrier a little bit. Even though I can tell it was really hard! You did all that on your first try!

Hurricane, do you realize how impressive that is? That's amazing!

I'm really proud of you!

[Oh. Oh no.]




[This is every feeling.]

[ruffles his hair]
