[Her fists clench; she's shaking again.]
There was a game. Oh, I'm so glad you weren't there--!
no subject
[ he immediately goes over to her and wraps his arms around her, tugging him close and holding her in place against his chest. ]
What kind of- no, nevermind, it doesn't matter. [ a bad game, clearly. ] Was anybody else there? [ because he's pretty sure all the peps are here... ]
no subject
[It's awful how - needy she is.]
Prim... and Levi, too...
[Even saying their names seems to tear at her.]
no subject
Why don't you shower and get changed. I'll make you some tea, and then we can talk if you'd like. [ or do something to take her mind off of things. he had hoped to give her the plushies just for the sake of adding a bit more personality to her room, but now he'll be doing so to try to make her feel better. ]
no subject
Is it okay if I go now? I... probably need to get these under water or the stain's never going to come out.
no subject
But, uh, anyway! Shower. I'll make some tea and then we can do... something. [ he nods, already heading to his room to collect the plushies he'd gotten for her, so they can be passed off when she returns. ]
[1/2]
[Good grief. The amount of clothing she's ruined, and she hasn't had so much as a paper cut...
[Yeah. A shower sounds very good about now.]
[2/2]
[But she's back again eventually, showered and changed (and with her hair brushed, and is that a touch of lipgloss?) and feeling - well, it isn't hard to feel a lot more human when you're not standing there covered in blood. She even finds she's feeling a bit less tired. Maybe the warm water helped wake her up.]
Yugi? I'm back. Sorry to keep making you wait for me!
i totally did not just do that.
[ as soon as she leaves to fresh up he goes into his room to grab the plushies ( 1 & 2 ) he had gotten for her. he plunks them down onto one of the desks and then sets to work on the tea. it doesn't take long to brew and... that might be a bit of a problem. she's gone for longer than expected, but he doesn't fault her for taking some time to unwind. he just hopes the shower helped. ]
[ he's looking through his duel monsters cards when she comes back. ] It's fine. Tea might be a bit cold, but I can warm it up, no problem. Sit. [ he motions to the chair across from him. ] I sent over the points and, well, I had gotten you these little guys to add to your collection, since you'd seemed upset after the other game. [ he should personalize his room a bit more too. hm. ]
Re: i totally did not just do that.
[Yes, she's seen those plushies and oh my God are those for her.
[There's two of them. A pink sheep with curled horns, a little round blue cat. She stares at them for a moment, then back up at Yugi, feeling herself start to smile. She's only just stopped crying, but - does this always happen? - but her eyes seem to be misting up again, and that tight feeling is back in her throat. Stop it, she tells herself: then, more forcefully, stop, but--
[But it's so hard to stop herself, when he's just gone and been so kind.]
Thank you. Oh - you don't have to, I'd have been - thank you!
[You get a hug. A big one.]
no subject
[ yugi notices that she seems to be on the verge of crying again and if not for the smile he would have thought he messed things up somehow. he just wanted to do something nice for her, since she's had a rough couple of days and he knows what that's like. ]
I know I didn't have to. [ he'll gladly take that hug! ] But I wanted to, and it was totally worth seeing you smile, Wednesday.
no subject
[Pulling back. She wipes at her eyes a little, but the smile doesn't waver: it's funny, it's not like it changes anything, she even feels a little bad for how much better it makes her feel, but she genuinely does feel better. One day, she tells herself, she'll be able to return gestures like this.
[She's blushing, too. He's making her blush. Aah, which to pick up fir-- how about both.]
Thank you...! Oh, I don't know what to say, Yugi. You're really far too kind.
no subject
You've said plenty, Wednesday. The thank you is more than enough. Maybe we can even go to the cafe later on, [ he takes a sip of his luke warm tea. ] so I can make this lackluster tea party up to you. [ he gives a chuckle. ] I don't know if you've had a chance to go, but they've got some of the best and, let's be frank, cutest snacks.
no subject
[The plushies get a quick hug this time. So soft.]
Oh, the cafe...! I keep meaning to go there. It seems like there's always something coming up. I even promised Rise we'd go sometime after... well, the other time, but we haven't found a time to do it yet. Maybe we should all go down together or something, I'll have no excuse to put it off if everyone's coming with me.
no subject
[ he'll take another sip of his tea. ]
But, really, I'm glad you like them. [ smiles down at his cup. ] Hopefully we'll all be able to smile a little bit more going forward. [ no more bad games plz&thx. ]
no subject
[Okay okay time for some tea now
[that is so much better.]
no subject
How is it? [ he hides his uncertain smile behind his own cup. ] I hope it's not too sweet.
no subject
[So lovely, she has to take another sip. It's warming, it's comforting, she's clean and dry and has a plush cat in her lap--
[Things could be so much worse. They could be so much worse.]
Oh, I took one memory - after the first game. I... kind of wanted to know who I was supposed to be, I guess. What the person who was there before would have done. I - well, I don't think she would have known, either. But it was comforting, all the same.
no subject
Really! I’m so glad you got to learn a little about yourself. And, ah, yeah, I don’t think knowing our true selves or not would really help in a lot of these situations, since they’re, uhm, well, y’know, unique… [ “unique”. ] Maybe one day I’ll get to see one of yours and you’ll get to… see one of mine…
no subject
Oh - but I wouldn't want to if you weren't comfortable with me seeing it, Yugi. Memories are private things, even if this place wants to turn them into a spectacle. You shouldn't feel you have to show me something personal just because you can, you know? I'm happy just knowing what you'd want me to.
no subject
It's not that. Most of my memories have been broadcast already besides. [ with the exception of one. ] It's more because they're, uh, not the greatest. I'm not sure what was going on back home, but it seems like there was always something. But I definitely wouldn't mind showing you one of my memories. I trust you, Wednesday, and I wouldn't mind showing you a little more about myself.
no subject
[That... doesn't sound good. She hugs the plushies, just briefly, gazing down at them.]
If you want to share them with me then that's different, of course! And if you want to see mine... I mean, my own really don't look like they're going to be that interesting. But I'll tell you all about them, if you want. Not that there's going to be that much to tell. I wanted to be a singer, and... and so far that's about it, really. Nothing out of the ordinary at all.
no subject
A singer? Have you tried singing since you got the memory back?
no subject
[Hm. She fiddles with her phone, just briefly.]
Maybe I could find a song on here, and learn that? I've got the music player... Still need to get headphones, though.
no subject
Yeah? You could definitely do that too. [ . . . ] Oh! What if we got a karaoke machine for the dorm!
