You remember. There was that game where we were in some other world, and we had to raise a little girl.

We didn't want to leave her there.

We tried to take her out.

And she died from that? Trying to leave the tower?

They sent us a new one - or fixed the old one but gave her a new body, maybe - but something was wrong with her.

She made friends with the dirt. She became obsessed with death.

Wow, I can't even imagine. Were you guys still even trying to play the game at that point, or...? What did you do after that?

We tried to help her get it back together.

Then she got kidnapped and we stormed a castle to take her back. She'd killed her captors when we got there.

You guys had a pretty intense experience, huh? Your daughter sounds... powerful.

Maybe. I still don't know what she did to those men.

Still, to kill all her captors before you even had the chance... Weren't all the daughters like ten?

Understandable. That whole game felt like a fever dream. Sometimes it's hard to believe that all really happened.

Yeah. It seemed so long.

It simultaneously felt like three days, or three months, or a whole lifetime, or just one afternoon. It was super intense and emotional and beautiful and frightening all at once.

We had... an overall positive experience, I think? But I kinda never want to do it again.

...I wouldn't mind checking in.

I'm kind of afraid we'd just fuck it up again, though.

I left my phone there, and when I got back it wasn't with me. If we were just in the room the whole time, I would think it should have stayed in the room, but it wasn't there.
