Wow, I can't even imagine. Were you guys still even trying to play the game at that point, or...? What did you do after that?

We tried to help her get it back together.

Then she got kidnapped and we stormed a castle to take her back. She'd killed her captors when we got there.

[He sounds... kind of proud.]

Maybe. I still don't know what she did to those men.

Still, to kill all her captors before you even had the chance... Weren't all the daughters like ten?

Understandable. That whole game felt like a fever dream. Sometimes it's hard to believe that all really happened.

Yeah. It seemed so long.

It simultaneously felt like three days, or three months, or a whole lifetime, or just one afternoon. It was super intense and emotional and beautiful and frightening all at once.

We had... an overall positive experience, I think? But I kinda never want to do it again.

...I wouldn't mind checking in.

I'm kind of afraid we'd just fuck it up again, though.

...Huh. Do you think they still exist somewhere out there?

I left my phone there, and when I got back it wasn't with me. If we were just in the room the whole time, I would think it should have stayed in the room, but it wasn't there.

Huh. Yeah, one of my unitmates gave our daughter the scarf she was wearing, and that disappeared too. But considering the powers of the people behind this place, making our stuff disappear seems squarely in the realm of possibility, so who knows.

Honestly, I have no idea where we were. In our game, there were several different towns and cities involved with a lot of travel in between them. Looking back on it, I think I assumed it was something like a shared dream, or a simulation like the vid room, instead of actually being transported to a place... but now I'm not so sure.

I assumed they took us somewhere else, honestly.

If that group traveled to a whole different city even without the help of the people in power here, and we were brought here in the first place, there's no reason they couldn't transport us when they want to.

Yeah, that's definitely possible. I honestly have no clue if any of that was real or not. I wonder if they still exist.

If they do, I hope you get to see yours again someday.
