🚢 pew pew pew, you sunk my battleship.

Who: Everybody!
Where: Game Tower
When: Day 517, Morning

[ you arrive in the game tower to the sound of a deafening siren, but there's no surreal transformation this time. the interior has already changed, looking like the inside of a submarine... if you had to guess! if the hissing pipes and flashing lights haven't already started grating on your nerves, then surely all of the random beeping and booping computers will. suddenly, all of the tv screens flicker to life, ]

[ ...ding! it looks like the elevators have arrived. ]

I really do hope you know that I don't take even an ounce of pleasure from making you play all of these ~awful games [ she's definitely all of the sincere. ] but here we are again. [ big biG BIG sigh. ]

I would be, should be, impressed that some of you managed to solve Shi's puzzles, but I don't really think that you d~i~d~. Instead, I believe there was a lot of guessing going on! [ squints accusingly!!! ] So if you enjoy guesswork so much, then have I. got the. game. for you.

[ Oh good, she uses that hand to reel herself in to give him a proper hug. Don't mind how she's dragging her useless legs, it could be worse than a broken back. ]

[ Her feelings are dizzying: dread, fear, guilt. But they're nothing surprising, at least. ]

[ He wraps his remaining arm around her, and from that touchpoint she'll find the immediate pain of her injuries slowly dissipating to nothing.

Then the hand moves, slowly, in a soothing motion ]

We'll be fine now.

You'd better be fine.

[ She's crying a little but it's fine really, not like it's unusual. And also clinging as much as she feels she can without hurting anything worse. Mercifully, the only emotion that gets shared is protective affection. ]

Is there anything I can do?

At least that's something.

[ Her memories, thankfully, are silent for the moment. ]

I'm sorry I couldn't take better care of you. Or Lumine, or Lupine. [ Her guilt is enough to choke someone, what else is new ]

[ -- that phrasing catches her off guard. It must be really hard to be powerless when you're a god. But possibly they have a wider view of things than someone who doesn't remember anything for 99% of her lifespan. ]

Well... they can't stop me from taking care of you now. Any of you.

[ That shakes an actual smile out of her. ]

As it is to me. Lupine too, and he might even admit it given the state of him from the last game.

[ She glances at Doctor, but it's better that he is elsewhere for a while. She's not sure what her emotion projecting would do if he joined them, probably nothing flattering. ]

If nothing else I can afford the scar removal. Hopefully I won't have to buy a new spine.

And I can float myself around so I won't be stuck. [ Bright side? SHE'S TRYING. ]

Buy a new spine . . .

Well -- let's see what I can do in the meantime, okay?

Thank you. Doctor said it might take a while to get the feeling back in my legs even if you succeed, so I won't jump to any conclusions.

[ She looks at her motionless legs. Then the pokes one of them and doesn't look especially surprised. ]

It's probably fixed, just too scarred up to function. Nerves in a human body are fragile.

[ oh no don't look like that! Venti should never look like that. ]

Don't be sorry. It's not your fault this game had a giant, bone smashing octopus in it.

And it's not all bad. This injury kept me from losing it on all of you when I started seeing nightmares. Given the choice between hurting you all again or having to levitate to get around for a while, I'll take the busted legs.
