In the meantime, one wonders if there might be a way to capture a sample of your voice. One has seen and heard moving images displayed upon the surface of a phone in the past, and one has recently learned the also acts as a kamera. Surely there is a method to preserve sound as well as images, no?

It does record sound. Alizarin told me that earlier, too - that I should record the things I want to say with my voice so that I can still have it later.

[She pulls the phone out from between a fold of fabric at her hip. There is no pocket there??? It was just kinda stuck to her like a refrigerator magnet apparently]

When the question of why one side is longer than the other is asked, the listener's natural inclination is to consider not the reason, but the purpose of this phenomenon. The question implies the birds have taken such a formation deliberately, or perhaps subconsciously, giving agency to the birds who must have some secret reason for assuming this flight pattern -- some knowledge unknown to the listener. The listener may then, in that instance, come up with many wild ideas, grasping at the idea that there is something funny going on that only the birds are aware of, swirling it in a fog of mystery.

Then, when the answer is revealed, the reason is simply that there are more birds on that side. Each bird takes up a certain amount of space, and because more birds take up more space, one side of the formation simply becomes longer naturally. So in the end, the answer to the question was not mysterious at all, but common sense, so obvious that it needs no explanation at all. This reveals in retrospect that the question was not asking about a purpose at all, and it was the listener thinking about it too hard that made it more complicated than it was. It is as though the asker has played a joke on the listener, and the surprise at the reveal of this joke is what makes it funny for both parties.

...Um... Maybe I just have a bad sense of humor?
