unbirthday indeed
WHO: LiliS (friends welcome too)
WHERE: LiliS
WHEN: Day 495
[She's a little late but it's fine-- at least there's no more weird forced obedience.
We're having a tea party here at LiliS to celebrate the successful win of playing safe even if it was less fun than whatever the heck HSS and friends were doing.
And since she had time it's a whole Wonderland party in here. Tea and snacks for LiliS (and friends).]

You don't think it's better to have a smaller fanbase of people who like you for... well, not who you really are, but at least stuff you already wanna do? Stuff you're comfortable doing?

But-- I don't think that means I have to give up on them either. I want to prove them wrong... that smiles are better than those horrible games. I want this to also be a place where everyone, no matter who they are, can smile.

You can't make everyone happy all the time, though. We're all different. We want different things.
[ —There's maybe. A touch of heaviness to his voice that he didn't mean to let get in there. Lupine's gaze slides away, hand withdrawing again, before he offers up a much less complicated smile. ]
Graduations, for example. Hard not to want the people we care about to stay with us, right? One event, making some people happy and other people sad.

[She watches him. Extremely idealistic or not, she's sharp. She recognizes those kinds of expressions. After all, that's why Bell scares her so much.]
...yeah. I know what you mean. It's their happy ending... but-- it's that feeling of being afraid that you won't get to be in whatever comes next. It's really sad...

...Something like that.
[ This was supposed to be the safer topic! Rude. ]
—Look, I just... don't think the fans in our audience are really like the ones you had back home. My first fan mail here, I got a letter from someone asking very nicely if they could have my head after I lost it for the first time.

[But her cheeks puff up and she frowns very deeply when he tells her about the letter he got.]
That's wrong. And I won't forgive them if they try to hurt the people I care about! But... just because they're "demons"... I can't just accept that means they can't be shown that we're different and that this kind of thing hurts us. Different doesn't have to mean bad...

Don't worry, I'm not prejudging them for being demons. I just...
[ Lets himself trail off, rubbing the back of his neck slowly. ]
Would hate to see you sacrifice any of your own happiness, trying to please everyone in our audience.

That's what I feel in my heart.

Yeah, well, I think that's — a good place to start.
