Even if you're the one doing the interrogating?
[ Easily. ] [ And he gestures for the newbie to follow him, away from the kitchen, though not before switching everything to low heat. ]
We've got a kind of mossy green, and neutrals — mostly white, but you can sneak in some gray or brown, too... so you'll want to pick something that goes okay with them, because your clothes're gonna be mostly in those colors.
[ Gesturing helpfully at the TV, where there's still a flashing prompt along with this person's photo and 'name'. ]
I went for black, which is easy. But you should pick something you like, too.

[ He looks a bit thrown by the TV, but just a few blinks worth. ]
I'll pick a darker green then, richer. Like an evergreen.
[ So like does this magic screen hear what he's said or something? ]
no subject
What, like... that?
[ It's just kind of dark green. ]
no subject
That's pretty close. May I?
[ Using the same actions or touches or whatever to pull up this green. He seems to have a very specific one in mind. ]
That's the one.

[ Grin, hands on hips. ...And tail going swishswish. ]
That's your position color. If you pick a flower name, you'll get one of those, too, out in our garden.
no subject
Could I see it?
no subject
Technically, there's three — or four — depending on how you count. But they're all this way.
[ Reaching the right door, he opens it to reveal the main garden. ]
And the stables, and the dog park...
[ The garden's beautiful, in a very conventional and pastoral way. It's also extremely temperate "outside". ]

Whoever or whatever brought me here, they put me in the right place.
[ He doesn't believe in any afterlife -- at least he doesn't think so -- but this could qualify as heaven
because no one told him about all the murder yet]no subject
Our dorm's pretty nice, yeah. They're all neat in their own ways... but I think I like our aesthetic best of the options.
[ Off towards the orchard door. He swings it open, his smile wry. ]
This place isn't all bad.
[ Not yet said out loud: but it is bad. ]

I imagine based on how you spoke that they're all quite different.

[ Beat. ]
I'm guessing you didn't do a lot of reading on your phone — that device you woke up with?

The metal rectangular object? I left it where it was. [ said with the slightest hint of distaste, that thing gave him the creeps ]
...There's no getting around this, even if it'll make me look ridiculous. What's a phone?

[ Holding his own phone up demonstratively. ]
But. You're gonna need yours. Sorry.
no subject
What does it do that's so important? [ He'll get it eventually, but making a case for why he needs it couldn't hurt. ]

[ Pulling up the point store. ]
Like, it lets you keep track of the points you're earning, which you'll need to buy stuff, which you'll probably mostly be spending through this store...
no subject
[ Probably don't leave the newbs alone together again, this sort of thing seems inevitable. ]
no subject
—Uhhh. Well, if you pay the 500 points for delivery, then yeah, Everything gets delivered to wherever you are.
[ Pushes a hand through his hair. ]
Who gave you guys points?
no subject
[ Since Gentiana hasn't any idea how to use his phone, it's pretty clear what went down here. Vash is a menace! ]
no subject
Of course it was Persi. Why did I even ask. Did she also go through how we earn points?
no subject
She said she was a witch granting me the power to get memories. It was cute, but not very informative. She did give me a name, though: Gentiana.
1/
Ha! That sounds like her. She'll answer anything you ask to the best of her ability, but. Let me see if I can give you the rundown...
no subject
[ Beat. Then he slows down a little. ]
Games first. There're three kinds — social games, where the idea is to do stuff together. You'll usually have a list of activities to check off, where you might need to braid someone's hair, or tell a joke, or confess a secret...
no subject
[ Nodding along with the first game description, waiting for the other shoe to drop but not at all concerned about it proverbially knocking something loose in his head ]
no subject
[ Rubbing the back of his neck slowly. ]
Second kind of game's puzzles. You might have to explore a place, solve riddles, or maybe play a giant board game. All the puzzle games I've done have been on teams, some of 'em unit-only and some of 'em mixed.
[ Shuts his eyes. ]
And then there's, uh, trauma games. Where we've gotta fight each other, or just... get hurt.
