I don't even know for sure that we were friends. And if I have such a strong bond with him, why doesn't it go both ways?

Maybe you never made him coffee. How should I know? Either way, it doesn't seem like a reason to change what you want to do now.

...I guess I get that. Being a little cautious as you figure things out makes sense.

But if B is making it harder, you should tell him that, not just give up and avoid it.

You're right. I can be more assertive with B. He acts like everything is a joke, but he can be serious when he needs to be.
