[ In his quest to regain more of his memory, today he has set up shop... at the movie theater within the shopping center. Usually, he visits the department store nearest the hotel. But he figures there is more privacy out this way, and he can look at the different selections offered here.

He has a bag full of new clothes and has even ordered some food. He'll just watch the memory play in the privacy of the theater, quietly hitting the purchase button. And the memory that plays-- is a sort of memory montage of his many birthdays throughout the years, leading up to his seventeenth.

At first, he feels a little lonely, watching it unfold before his eyes. But by the end, he's smiling.

His seniors and his friends... he's really spoiled, isn't he? He really misses them all, but he's going to use this to hold onto. He's glad he decided to take a memory today. ]

[This memory is comparatively short and definitely comparatively cute compared to SOME that Nyx has gotten back.
Please enjoy the sight of a kindly adult gently shattering this boy's worldview by telling him absurd things like "you're SUPPOSED to not be able to do everything perfectly on the first try" and "you, too, can learn how to Do A Thing if you just practice it for a while". Because somehow Nyx missed the memo on this during the first 15 years of his life (*by somehow we mean his family was Bad with a capital B).

Nyx isn't looking AS shaken as the boy in his memories, but there IS a distinctly awkward tone to his smile. Clamor is right when he says this kid can be read like an open book.]

Memory 01 & 02

[Shirasagi finally get her first few memories!

Memory 01 seems to note that she's an important lady of the city, strolling around with elegant and grace. Based on people's reactions, she's a pretty big deal and she responds to them all with perfect etiquette. However she still seems to enjoy common things like festivals even though she can't just go without a disguise of some sort.

And this memory is of her practicing the blade with Aster popping up at the end. It seems they know each other! He calls her "ojou/milady" so it reaffirms that's she at least a higher ranking than him.]

So that is what its like to witness one's memories...

[ He's overdue, so: let's grab another three. You can find Lupine out by the bay, which is where he usually takes his memories — not so far away from the hotel that he feels like he's actually hiding, but not so nearby that people won't be able to help stumbling over him, either. He's always aware that his memories might be... unpleasant.

But he gets lucky today: none of the memories he buys are terrible.

The first one has you sneaking through somewhere big and fancy, when you run into a familiar face — apparently for the first time. She mentions the name of someone you know, saying he's in trouble, and you agree to help her find him to warn him... after a little misunderstanding.

The next memory takes place in a rainy town, and features — that rich bastard's manor, though it seems like an earlier memory because he didn't have any kind of visceral reaction to seeing the place. Mostly this memory seems to be about meeting a little girl dressed like a pirate. It's short, too, which feels like a ripoff.

And speaking of ripoffs — the third memory seems like a continuation of the first one he bought today? He's with that girl again, and they found the room of the guy she was looking for — only he's not home. And then they get ambushed by some sort of assassin, who is... really uncomfortably into fighting him, great.

Lupine pushes out a low sigh and pockets his phone. ]

Okay, guess that's enough of that for today.

[ There's no good time for one of her memories really, but having very pleasant plans later today should at least keep her from wallowing. So she settles in the hotel lobby in the maid outfit she has to wear after the card game -- which is fine really, it's cute -- and buys a public memory before she can change her mind. ]

[ In this one she appears to be in... much the same state as when she first woke up here, except not wearing pajamas. She doesn't much care about anyone watching seeing her undressed, she doesn't seem shy in the memory and still isn't, nor is she especially surprised that the waiting man almost shoots her; she's more concerned with why this keeps happening. What is she? ]

[ Even more alarming is when the man who found her says 'she's awake' into the intercom -- someone, more than one someone, was expecting that, planning for it. ]

[Sakura is out again and actually findable, perched in a tree like he usually is. and he ends up buying two public memories.

and they're both horrible.

in the first memory, he is unfortunately caught by the wrong god, can't get away and is overwhelmed in a fight, and then tortured until he gives in and gives him his name, and then is enslaved.

the second memory is just a montage of all the cruelty and violence that Sakura was forced by his master into committing with no ability to resist these orders for years and years and years. He suffers greatly and intensely from both the karmic debt he accrues in committing these acts, even if it was not by his own will, and the trauma in being made to do them, even though the memory Sakura doesn't seem to even register or care about his own suffering after a while.

speaking of actual Sakura, once the second memory finishes playing, he doesn't stick around, pretty much flinging himself out of the tree and going to parkour further into the city, dropping his phone in the process. if you want to talk to him, you will either have to chase him probably or find him later.]

...Having Sakura's phone in his hand sure does — entirely remove any kind of choice in the 'should I at least text him to let him know I saw that' matter. But after a few minutes of just standing under the tree almost unblinking, he'll go back to the dorm and just. Tuck Sakura's phone into Bad End's mailbox. ]

[He's taking two memories today!]

[The first is him chasing down Luz in a rage for his staff. Luz at one point wonders if he's powerless without his staff, until he closes the distance and freaks her out. He then goes down the list of why she won't hurt him or run away and he is a real dick about it, honestly.]

[Rufous himself pauses after the memory, staring at his phone.] ...no. No, no, its just a fluke...

[So he takes a second and it sure does start with Eda saying Luz meant someone with no magical powers and he's very mad about hearing this in the memory. And proceeds to lash out and provoke both Eda and King because Of Course He Does. The memory continues with hiding from a raving Kikimora and having alone time with Amity wherein Hunter attempts to make a connection with her. Lowkey definitely to manipulate her. But also he lowkey Absolutely Genuinely Sympathizes With Her at the end because he's a mess of a person. The fear of disappointing someone is definitely said with far too much sincerity.]

[And at the end, Rufous is just staring at his phone with an intensity that almost seems like he's trying to read the secrets of the universe from it.]
