..........................ok

[;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Thus commences the slowest and most careful potato peeling to have ever occurred, as if even a bit of excess "meat" getting shaved off is an offense to the universe.]

[He'll prep some of the more complicated foods, shape-wise, but he's careful to keep an eye on Nyx and give him pointers to avoid peeling too much too.

This is a kitchen of learning!!

[It's a kitchen of ANXIETY. If Nyx didn't look appropriately exhausted for being fresh out of a trauma game earlier he is definitely getting there.
At least the potatoes are also getting there. FINALLY, FINALLY.................. potatoes are peeled and Nyx is washing the peeler off so he doesn't have to look at them and Regret every bit of overly shaved vegetable.]

[Picking one up and examining it.]

Wow, these are really clean for a first try. Thanks, Nyx!

Yeah. I'm an old hand at this kind of thing, so I'm pretty quick now.

Want to learn how to cut up the potatoes next?

Is it different from cutting up other things??

Not exactly. We just want the pieces to be more or less the same size, like...

[He'll take the same potato and cut it up to demonstrate.]

Around that size. Cooking isn't a precise art, and this recipe's pretty forgiving, but it's better if they're all similarly sized so they cook at the same speed.
