It was . . . similar to a game in the long past—when Loki-san was still around.

A member of the unit was made to be the "Heart," and we were dependent on their survival to stay sane. Besides that, no food was provided to us, and we were all made to feel insatiable hunger.

For three rounds—[ there's a pause, his voice thick ]—we were made to choose individual targets to hunt, up to two of them. Then . . . in between the rounds, we were meant to be in one enclosed space with every other unit.

While we were able to avoid being targeted for some time—Venti-san was . . . ah, taken out, between the first and second round.
