It strikes me as -- familiar, I guess? But so do a lot of other things when I don't have any idea why. I can go on and on about the history of my homeworld, I know a bunch of languages and can talk about dozens of countries, but there's nothing about how I relate to it.

[ She picks up a red kimono with white and black roses on it. ] One of the languages I speak is related to these sort of clothes; they're very traditional.

[ Takes a second to look the clothes over, then look him over, after which she moves closer so he can use her shoulder for balance if he needs it. ]

I think I have muscle memory enough to figure out all these parts. [ Kimonos or corsetry, she seems to have experience with all types of clothes. ]

I'm absolutely going to need a hand or two. I am still really bad at clothing. It's why I mostly just wear cloaks and accessories.

[ A considering look ] I guess you can't help get this thing on me then, but if you want to help get me out of what I'm wearing... [ shyness is not a trait she possesses, and sure she can handle her corset laces on her own but it's much more fun to ask someone else. ]

[ She spins around to show him her back, points at her corset lacings. If he breaks them, well, they're in the store, no big deal. ] They're not as delicate as they look. [ They have to withstand a lot of tension and all ]

[ and though he speaks of his lack of coordination he is actually really! freaking!! coordinated!!! ...at least for a monster with claws. he's deft with a scalpel, not that that comes into play here, but he's definitely able to take care in undoing her corset with no damage what so ever. ]

Does this thing not hurt to wear?

[ She glances over her shoulder as he loosens up her laces, pleasantly surprised. Interesting, how good he is with those claws. ]

Not at all. They're made with whale bones that mold to your body shape, so if it's properly worn it won't hurt at all. Usually one wears a shift under them, but that won't work so well with ☆Zrael's whole thing so I don't bother. But they're only uncomfortable if you try to lace them too tight, or you try to force yourself into one that fits incorrectly. It's more common to pad them out if you're going for an especially specific shape.

[ That whole modern thing that says corsets are painful tools of patriarchy? Yeah not even slightly true, and she can attest to it even without her specific memories of ever having dressed in such things. ]

[ She opens the front busk of her corset and drapes it over whatever's around then starts on her skirt, shyness is not a factor in her life. ] Let me get this thing on, then I'll help you with yours.

If you ever get a chance to see me in my human shape could you... help me wear one? I have been told a bunch of times that people appreciate clothing and I'm wondering if Nocturne might like if I stuffed myself into a corset. I'm not sure they'd make one for me looking like this, but... maybe. [ he just figures it'd be easier the other way. ]

I can help with that. I'm sure we can find one that has the lines you like. Or he likes. [ she's an expert on corsetry, and a lot of different types of clothing actually. She presumes it goes back to being very old and having traveled extensively (she'd have to have done so, given how many languages she knows). ]

[ She puts the kimono parts out in the order they'll go on so it'll be easier to manage, not bothering to hurry getting dressed. ]

All muscle memory, so she considers what Nocturne might like, corset-wise. ]

Probably something he can play with a little [ or a lot ], I'm thinking. Do you want one you can wear in public, or is this one of those put-it-on-to-take-it-off type plans?

[ hums, considering this for a moment. ] I wouldn't mind it being a fully functional piece of clothing and I'll admit I may want to make him a little jealous if others gawk at me. I think I see the appeal, but ultimately it will end up on the floor.

If I minded, I wouldn't have asked. [ Tossing him a wink while she works on the next layers of this complicated thing. ] You don't have to worry about when you cross a line with me, those lines are a long way off. [ She really only has a few "not in a million years" boundaries and she's not subtle about it when they're crossed. ]

Hmm. You'll want something that laces up the back for sure, so it won't constrict you. [ The lacings can easily go around his spikes. ] But if it also laces down your chest, then you can watch him yank on it, or undo it. I tend to like when they have some buckles on them too, but it depends how much you two like anticipation. [ Watching people impatiently fluster with her complicated clothes is one of her favorite pastimes. ]

I appreciate you making that clear. Some people here act like they have boundaries like that, but then get offended the moment I so much as look at them. I've been trying to err on the side of caution, because I've been condemned for things out of my control one too many times.

I like buckles! [ because they have shinies on them. ] How about something overly complicated, so he may end up saying fuck it and grabbing a knife to simply cut through it.
