cw: mild drowning/death description, witness okay!
it's nothing particularly surprising. an ally who'd love to see Kitsu dead. a twisted sort of karmic justice as Kitsu's other allies move to abandon their "sacrifice" to drown: their sacrifice who happens to be the same person who'd been talking down to Kitsu himself, but who then turns to him in desperation, asking if he could really abandon someone. that person dying in spite of Kitsu's best efforts not to leave someone behind, to swim him through danger and eschew the idea of a "necessary sacrifice."
isn't that always how it goes? powerless. pointless. keep going anyway.
well. why break form? might as well take that as cue to go for a run. ]
a bit later! cw: stroke/aphasia, domestic violence
luck isn't on his side. a familiar friend, Iwasawa, describes the events leading to her death. her working tirelessly for a dream, a fight within her family. a blow to the head. a stroke that stole her voice, a miserable fate for an aspiring musician. (if you've seen earlier memories of his, you may recognize that he knows Iwasawa disappears from the afterlife as well.)
he decides to go fling rocks between the lake and one of the trees at the park, his body language stiff, chilly, angry. (watch where you're going!) ]

But it fades, because Izanagi's not lingering around to talk.]

[Alisaie straightens, as the smooth, flat pebble she'd sent skipping across the water finally gives in to its fate and sinks.]
Do you know how to skim stones, Okitsu?
Re: a bit later! cw: stroke/aphasia, domestic violence
Yeah, I do. I was surprised the first time I did it... surprised I was a decent shot. [ another breath. productive. he can be productive. ] Want to see who can get the farthest?
Re: a bit later! cw: stroke/aphasia, domestic violence
[Is she being serious? She stoops, finds two suitable stones.]
But if you say I throw like a girl, I will push you in. Temperature notwithstanding.
[Now that was definitely not serious.]
Re: a bit later! cw: stroke/aphasia, domestic violence
Check and make sure I haven't actually been possessed once I come out of the freezing water, though? If you could.
Assuming the water doesn't make me scream and snap me out of it, I mean.
