She came up with it all on her own, too. She showed us her experiments and explained the method...

Hermes is better with numbers and physics than I am, and he said that from the moment he heard it, he knew it would work. Even though I couldn't bring myself to fully believe it... I'm really glad I got to see it through.

I've been wondering about how different some places are compared to what we remember of our own homes... when I first came here I didn't know how to use a cellphone or the television so I sort of just... pushed buttons? I taught myself. I wonder if learning to fly is a bit like that - though maybe that would be more dangerous.

[Hm.]

What I mean is... learning the numbers. She tried her best to come to the best conclusion.

Did you have trouble with it? I found the phones fairly intuitive, myself.

[Huh.]

...You're right, though. It seems like she did a lot of research to create that machine. And in the end, it paid off.

Only at first. I got the hang of it pretty quickly. At the time, I was more worried about being dangerous to someone. I knew what I was even if I didn't know who or where I was.

So you already instinctively knew that...? Well, I suppose that's just like me instinctively understanding that I'm "human."

[Nodding a little to themself, that makes sense.]
