A lot of, ah, people haven't been happy with him. Including, ah, his own unit...

Mm... I hope he manages to learn a thing or two.

I mean, obviously he's being himself about things, but it'd be nice if maybe it helped him reconsider the way he looks at the world.

It, ah, would be nice, but he might need to lose his memories for that to happen.

It felt like—I don't know. Something not quite right.

I don't, ah, really know anything about how wars are fought...

...but maybe it was going too well?

I mean, I had the impression that it was unfortunately sloppy... but going well, in spite of that.

There's something that bothers me about Ascendant Crane, in retrospect, but I'm not sure what.

Well, she had a way about people. Knowing what I know now... maybe she was just exceptional, but I wonder.

Maybe. It's hard to tell, especially since she was a noblewoman, probably with excellent tutors in the sorts of charisma one would want to be well-spoken and commanding. I'm not sure I'll ever know for sure, though.
