There's something that bothers me about Ascendant Crane, in retrospect, but I'm not sure what.

Well, she had a way about people. Knowing what I know now... maybe she was just exceptional, but I wonder.

Maybe. It's hard to tell, especially since she was a noblewoman, probably with excellent tutors in the sorts of charisma one would want to be well-spoken and commanding. I'm not sure I'll ever know for sure, though.
