[ After a long, long, long night, you wake in the dead zone, having slept more deeply than you've ever slept before.

Perhaps more restfully than you've ever slept before, even—do you remember your dreams? Is it all coming back to you, now?

For certain dreamers, the flower markings have disappeared, though if you wake early enough you can catch them glowing bright before burning away painlessly. With that, it feels as though maybe a weight's been lifted off your shoulders—maybe you really needed that sleep.

For certain dreamers, you may find yourself waking up with something new—was that always in your hands? Where did you get that from? Do you remember?

And, for a certain few unlucky dreamers, you may find yourself waking with pain, wounds or scars that remind you that what happened last night was not entirely a dream.

But then, who could ever believe it was a dream anyway?

The sun shines bright; Heaven's chain shines brighter. In the distance, white clouds roll toward the city, threatening rain.

[ when they arrive at the dorms, Veles takes a seat across from him. Concern and wariness intermingle as he watches him, like he's preparing for an outburst— not that Izanagi has shown himself to be that sort of person, but it's his baseline expectation. ]

[Fortunately, there's no further outburst. Instead, he just stays put, gradually pulling himself together again, bit by bit.

The breaths are still shaky, but they're beginning to calm.]

[ he's going to go get him some water and put it down on the table in front of him ]

Small sips. Don't gulp unless you're super looking forward to choking.

[Oh. Oh, yeah, he should probably like... try not to get dehydrated, huh...?

Quietly, obediently, he takes the cup and takes small sips. And, after a moment:]

Thank you.

[ looks away, crossing his arms ]

If you want to thank me, finish that and feel better. Talk is cheap.

[He gives a shuddery breath that under other circumstances might have been a soft laugh.]

Mm, I feel a little better already.

[And working on drinking the rest.]

[ he relaxes, slightly, at the laugh though he continues to watch him ]

You're definitely the best behaved patient I've had in like, ever.

Maybe it's 'cause I'm used to it.

Depressing much? You're not the first sickly bastard I've met either.

You met a guy around here... tall, blonde? Tenshouin, but he could be going by something else. He's like, sprouted horns, apparently. Since I'm not the only one that keeled over young, but for him it's more surprising that he like, got this far.

Anyway, we're... [what's a word that he can use here. ] acquainted.

Ah, yeah - he's dating a guy who used to be on our unit.

When you say acquainted, is it... positive, negative, neutral?

. . . Complicated, I guess? I don't hate him, or anything. I mean, anything I could blame on him, like, the lion's share of the blame actually goes to me.

He did talk about some pretty heavy stuff when I first met him. Just what did you guys go through back in your world?

[lionhurt]

Both of us? If it's general stuff . . . well. I grew up in the entertainment industry, you know? Since I was a brat, I've been in magazines. But scandal happened, so I got forced out and was shunted to Yumenosaki-- hypothetically an idol school, actually a hell hole.

Tenshouin wanted to fix it, and like, I guess he did? But now we have a monument to all the suicides that happened during the revolution. I don't know if it was better before or after, but it's not like I have any room to judge.

I don't think he sees any point in hiding it, here. He's dead, and no one's going to try and prosecute him now. Not that anyone could challenge the Tenshouin heir in life, anyway. No one other than that idiot, anyway.
