[ After a long, long, long night, you wake in the dead zone, having slept more deeply than you've ever slept before.

Perhaps more restfully than you've ever slept before, even—do you remember your dreams? Is it all coming back to you, now?

For certain dreamers, the flower markings have disappeared, though if you wake early enough you can catch them glowing bright before burning away painlessly. With that, it feels as though maybe a weight's been lifted off your shoulders—maybe you really needed that sleep.

For certain dreamers, you may find yourself waking up with something new—was that always in your hands? Where did you get that from? Do you remember?

And, for a certain few unlucky dreamers, you may find yourself waking with pain, wounds or scars that remind you that what happened last night was not entirely a dream.

But then, who could ever believe it was a dream anyway?

The sun shines bright; Heaven's chain shines brighter. In the distance, white clouds roll toward the city, threatening rain.

I guess I'm more naive than I thought I was.

But I imagine that would improve his confidence so. Good job?

I can only hope so. It is hard to say what affect anything will have.

He told me I don't have to handle things on my own.

He is, but hearing him say with such confidence was really quite something.

I can but hope all our effects were such. And that he retains that confidence.

Well. If not we are still here for him, regardless. I don't care much for fixing him or any of you but I like the idea of being there for you.

Indeed, I do feel the same. I would not fix any of you. But it was nice to spend time with various parts of him.

And to show them love.

I understand that sentiment. Sometimes I do wish I could do the same with every part of you and Hades as well.

As endearing as that thought is, I think if my own heart were on display I would want no one wandering it.

I prefer the affection you show in the waking world or dreams. Where I can feel the comfort of your soul.

I understand that. I'd feel the same after all. It was already enough that you ended up seeing what an ideal life was for me - though then again. That ended up remarkably well for me.

So it did. Though you and Hades did try to stay remarkably dense about it even after.

Yes yes your body. I was already aware you two loved each other before you were even far enough along to be in denial about it though, you realize.

... All right you have a point. I did also ask him to come to my world far before any of that too.

I can admit now that I'd been in love with him for quite a long time before all that opened our eyes.

We really must have looked foolish.

Simply cute, from my perspective. Though at the time I found it alarming.

Because of the danger I posed to him. I don't think I fully understood that until Hythlodaeus appeared.

I don't have anything against him. Quite the contrary, I do enjoy his presence and am honestly wishing for both you and Hades to reconnect to him properly.

But it does scare me. What would happen if he rejected you. And him especially.

It'd break his heart and that terrifies me.

[He smiles a little and cups the back of Five's neck, leaning his forehead to Five's.]
