Betrayal 3: Session 8
Who: You lot
When: To be inserted into the timeline after completion
What: A Certain Game
[ You are in an elevator, and it is not ascending into the Game Tower, no. This time, it's taking you down. You can feel it in the pit of your stomach, watch through the glass chassis as stone scrolls up and away and all around you becomes darkness.
And then, a screen flickers on. A bright, cheerful woman with fluffy pigtails waves at you with one hand, a brightly colored plastic crazy straw that's been speared through a few mango chunks in her other. Exael winks and speaks to the camera.
"And with summer comes what we all look forward to~ Summer Break! It's time to get away from hot stuffy Tokyo, and get away from it all! And so, everyone, we've brought your faa~avorite idols home here to you! In one of our very special hotels, for a very special game! Clasp your hands in prayer, hope real hard, and maybe you'll get a front row seat to their presence in the Hotel Omphalos!"
"May this show grant you Mirth, because soon starts—"
The broadcast cuts out.
The light does not return, as the elevator doors open. Instead, color so bright it can't be drowned out by the darkness spills in, and erodes the car away. You are left standing in an unfamiliar Hotel, and the game is just beginning. ]

As you move through the room, though, the portraits turn a little unsettling—they're holographic displays that flip through a handful of images of the same person, additionally showing their most memorable and gruesome deaths while on the program.
For some reason there's a statue of L of AlcheME! brandishing a frying pan menacingly.
You may go North, East, or West from here. ]
EVENT: CONTRACT
Here's a contract for power in return for your soul.
You may sign the contract. If you do, attempt a Knowledge roll to read the fine print:
0-1: You sign your soul away for nothing. Lose one Sanity.
2-3: You lose your soul but you gain power. Lose one Sanity. You gain an item.
4: You find a small loophole and keep your soul. Draw an item card.
5+: You find the contract isn't binding and keep your soul. Gain one Sanity. Draw an item card

WEAPON: A slightly-battered handgun, small enough to fit in your waistband. Big enough to kill.
You can use the Revolver to attack with speed instead of Might. (Opponents also defend with speed, and take physical damage.)
Roll 1 additional die on your speed attack roll (max 8 dice).
With the revolver, you can attack anyone in the same room or through line of sight: through an uninterrupted straight line of doors. If you attack someone in another room and lose, you don't take damage.
You can't use another weapon while you're using this one.
