[ if you happen to catch a glimpse at a TV screen, bright and early this morning --

the signal on the screen is live! and it seems to be split into two halves, vertically. on one side, you have a dimly-lit image of an angel in a straightjacket. there's light illuminating them from above but the surroundings are too dark to decipher where they are exactly; one can see, however, syringe needles protruding from various spots on the angel's body, many of them connected to tubes that lead offscreen. The tubes are filled with a blue light, as though extracting the angel's essence, though many needles stab through with syringes emptied of their contents and only serving the purpose of making a pincushion of the creature now.

on the other side of the screen, there's two idols chained up against a dungeon wall, hands bound above them and manacles on their ankles as well. those who've been in the House of Mirth previously may recognize it as the dungeon -- the sconces on the wall are lit, this time, clearly showing the previously-dark surroundings.

there's a figure beside them, easily seven feet tall. they're wearing either a mask or maybe it's just their real head -- it's an elongated goat skull, at the very least, with long, twisted horns. they're wearing a dark black cloak that seems to hide almost all of their body. they're holding pliers, but even their hands are gloved as if to hide anything identifying. and when they speak -- their voice is filtered, warped as if coming through a loudspeaker. ]

Are we all ready for the show to begin?

Agreed. This is not something we want to intervene in too overtly.

Did Hurricane or Nemesis say anything to you beforehand?

Possibly? But what could have they gotten up to without anyone noticing? And after being scolded so much, surely they'd mention something?

They probably want leverage on the angel. The angel cares about Hurricane a lot, right?

They absolutely want leverage on the angel.

My source suspects that the reason we were able to find out so much is because they wanted us to go looking for him. Because that idiot angel is such a hero type, his own suffering isn't going to persuade him to cooperate. If they want to break him, they'll need to make the people he cares about suffer.

Which means this is probably doubling as that - and a warning to us. Or an incentive, considering our lot.

You don't have to watch. The living room has no screens though it does have one screaming triplet.

Did Talon tell you? Azzy's been out on official business and the Manager has been picking up his calls. At least that was the situation a little more than a week ago.

......................ah. How curious though. If it is Pythia's people who has him, isn't broadcasting them in his place awfully arrogant and flaunting?

That's what I've been confused about this whole time.

If Pythia captured him, why would they stuff him in Azzy's summer house? Unless decreed to from a higher power. Or now he's considered joint property.

Or perhaps they're working together for now towards a greater goal. After all, we had people enter heaven through his agents, right? Not Pythia's.

What if it's not them against each other while everyone else ignores them, but them against everyone else under the guise of being against each other?

That would put them as equals, and I do believe Azzy is the underdog in all this.

He wants to build a world for humanity, where people are not shackled by God nor by "the first fallen".

So if they are working together, I wouldn't paint it as more than necessity on Azzy's part.

The question is will AZZY interfere.

This is broadcasted surely to him as well, right?

If this is Pythia's people without him, one of his people might be able to see this and direct his attention to it, right? If they're not secret team up. Although to keep it secret wouldn't he still be expected to interfere?

Bad End did a live covering the screens, so the audience should be aware even if they AREN'T being fed this unless it's being blocked.

But perhaps this is Beneath Him...

Or he could be really far away on that business venture.

... We need to figure out who Goat Man works for.
