What: Betrayal at the House on the Game Tower

[ The game starts with you in elevators, the doors jammed shut. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, but there's no introduction to today's game.

It's just as well. Those of you who recognize it need no introduction to it. Those of you who don't couldn't be prepared by any host's opening spiel, anyway.

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

[throwing a whip at him. he was nice and picked one up for you in the arsenal]

[ Blinking in surprise as he catches that... but sighs, shaking out his sleeves to slide out the wooden tonfa he's been holding onto, tossing them back. ]

Not this kind of prepare, but I can't argue much against having it either...

[I knew you had them. he's catching them easily, maybe a little surprised at the space you were hiding them in]

[ Glancing over at the girls before looking back at Skylark. ]

... I think so too. What remains to be seen is if that's true.

[ Sighs again. ]

... Let me check out what Hiryuu wanted to show us past here? Then I'll come back.

Hiryuu mentioned the menagerie next door and the Solarium a few rooms south from here. I'd like to see both of them, but I don't want to get locked into separate rooms from you either.

[ He has a good idea exactly how pissed Skylark would be over that. ]

[ Glancing at Hiryuu, who is under attack right now, but he knows that he can't help, that jumping in will just make things worse for her. But he also can't leave her alone in here, he knows how bad that feeling is too... ]

... We'll fight in here. I said I would go with Hiryuu originally and I'd like to keep to that promise.

[but then he shrugs]

[ Setting aside the rope and pliers, taking hold of the whip. ]

[hefting the tonfas, a smirk playing on his lips]

And have you gotten anywhere since last time?

We'll just have to see, won't we?

[ Sliding a foot back and lashing out with his whip... except he rolls a might 1 so it's a weak hit. ]

[ And also he accidentally drops a pair of dice again. ]

[ ... +1 knowledge! ]

[he. doesn't even dodge that. just. stares a little at him as the whip lashes out and flicks him across his hands]

... I really hate this place.

I can't control my power here!

[ Flicking his wrist as another test... and that's a much sharper might 5 attack coming at Skylark. ]

[his eyes flicker at the movements and he brings his tonfa up to block the attack with a 7. that was your test? it was tons better than your earnest try]

Then try harder.

[stepping forward to bring his tonfa up in an arc against Mercury's chest. a... a 9]

[ Mercury's quick to move, blocking that attack with a whip curled around each hand... but again, his strength is out of sync with the practiced movements of his body, a might of 3 means even with Mercury's armor he's taking a solid blow to his chin, stumbling back from the hit and dazed. ]

[just blinks a little, stepping back, annoyed]

What is wrong with you?
