[HEY DUDES IT'S A MINGLE, BUT ALSO TRUTH OR DRINK

Sometime Thursday all idols will get a text, or maybe they just heard word of mouth, of some upscale restaurant! All drinks and food are FREE...........if you participate in Truth or Drink!! It's an idol exclusive promotion, and the 'payment' is just that, participation! No worries, nothing is being filmed (though if you want some fans creeping through the window, feel free), but if you don't play you'll have to barter something else for your food and drink!

For those in Vengeance hell, they can play via face time at a smaller cafe on the other side--one of the vengeance demons lost a bet to a liar demon and that's the only reason they're participating. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I mean the other mental option for me is throwing yourself off a cliff to avoid a game but I haven't seen any cliffs around so it doesn't work out as well for me.

... isn't that more or less how all the 'bad' games go?

No. Not really.

Usually we're sorted by teams and shoved into rooms. There, we're given a variety of instructions. There was a game once where we had to choose on other unit to protect. There was the balloon game. Stuff like that.

The game with Requiem was more like an all-out battle royale. She picked a fight with me when she didn't have to.

So I finished it.

[shrugs]

. . . it might seem weird, but throwing a game where we're locked in a room and forced to make stupid moral choices is way different to me than lying down and letting someone kill me during a battle royale.

[ A small shrug in return, slumping back in his seat. ]

I haven't been in any 'bad' games as far as I'm aware, so I only have what people tell me. I've only been in one game, actually, and all I did for that one was watch a flaming horse graze for a while.

... I don't really think I can say much about past decisions or choices, without having been there myself. Like you pointed out, there's unique circumstances every time that can change why a choice was made. Until I'm dropped into a game myself with the rest of the team, I can't honestly judge anyone's past choices.

I dunno. I can tell you what I like to do with each of them, but I don't know what they all do personally in their spare time with each other.

Does the team not usually spend much time together?

[foolmetwice]

No, I wouldn't say that. We've done lives together, and at one point we dragged the mattresses into the common area so we could all sleep there instead of in our pod beds.

[a pause as he thinks about this]

. . . I distinctly remember Hiryuu making soup for all of us after my very first game, too. In the beginning we all kind of congregated back at the dorm and hung out there while we recovered.

Though lately, we've all been scattering to other units rather than returning home after the rough games, so. . . [shrugs] Maybe the tension has us more fractured than usual lately.

That might be a good place to start then. If they're not comfortable spending time together, they're probably just as uncomfortable doing the rougher stuff.

It wasn't always like that, though. We've been through a lot together. All of us.

And from my perspective, everyone on Heart has always done their best to be there for the others. Nobody has ever purposefully or maliciously told or acted like someone else didn't belong.

But if the only times you're all spending together are either during or surrounding these bad games, that becomes the association.

We held a party once. Invited a ton of friends from off-unit. Bad games aren't the only times we've spent together.

Are you suggesting we should do more of that 'cause I hate parties.

[onetrippony]

Parties are a lot of work, which are about the opposite of what I'd like to aim for. I was just thinking of regularly inviting the team to do some fun stuff with me, under the guise of wanting to try something out. So they have the option of joining in or not.

That's one way to get to know everyone, and to maybe cut through the recent tension.
