Who: Three and Intensity and whoever else
Where: Dining area
When: Day 21. When everyone else is at the onsen, there were two assholes arguing. It's a live.

[Three is leaning aggressively on the dining table picking at his distasteful food]

So, have you realized how dumb it is to refuse to buy memories, yet?

I hadn't realized you were so set against it.

Compared to what else you can buy with buys, it's a very low return on your investment.

I've already got the main thing I was interested in from WILD CITY's power set. There's a few more, too, but my memories ...

[ hmm ]

They've help put things into context for me. What have you been buying?

Powers. They've helped put things into context for me.

And saving up for a side project with a very large price tag.

[ hmmMMM ]

Well, I learned that if you don't aim for a soldier's vitals, they'll lag behind and slow their entire group down while they try to help him. Instead of aiming for a killing blow and having them leave the corpse behind right away.

[ look this is valuable knowledge here Intensity. ]

[Intensity looks a bit--- distant as he's filing away that information. And then he looks at Whisky if he was a particularly interesting and complicated puzzle]

A very sound strategy. And one applicable to a variety of situations.

[ it's a look he's familiar with -- funnily enough reminiscient of ones Hiryuu has given him and it's not exactly an experience he finds pleasant. still he doesn't want to let it phase him. ]

I thought so too. That's something that takes experience on a battlefield to figure out, isn't it?

Did all your memories turn out to be so useful?
eatsthecanary: (pic#12391726)

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-01 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
I've only gotten two. The one I mentioned -- had me sniping as well, and using someone else as bait to draw my target in.

[ all very valuable! ]

The other ...

[ he seems to debate how to phrase this; ]

I learned that even with memories I had room to improve, in learning how to persuade others.

Am I your first guinea pig after that memory?

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-01 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
It was a different context. But you didn't seem to argue with the value of my first memory.
bluescreenwhitedragon: ([Smirk] I'll let you think you won)

[personal profile] bluescreenwhitedragon 2018-08-01 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
No, I didn't, did I?

You have guts to admit learning such a thing out in the open.

[And on camera no less]

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-01 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I broadcast it. And I don't see the issue - - I was obviously a soldier before. I must have done similar things in the war.
bluescreenwhitedragon: ([Smirk] Honey I'm home)

[personal profile] bluescreenwhitedragon 2018-08-01 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Being a soldier in a time of war is different than admitting that crippling your opponent can be much more effective than outright killing them. Or claiming that the latter is useful considering how things here are progressing on a steady escalation path.

I mean, you could be playing up a redemption arc right now. I bet the audience would love that. And many of the people here.
eatsthecanary: (pic#12391648)

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-01 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he does sour some, at the idea of that. ]

What is there to "redeem" me from? Someone who found an effective tactic to fight his enemies? Someone who would do anything to win?
bluescreenwhitedragon: ([Smirk] I win you lose)

[personal profile] bluescreenwhitedragon 2018-08-01 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
So you do take pride in that. That’s what I like to see.
eatsthecanary: (pic#12436815)

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-01 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I do. I'm not interested in being redeemed if it means losing that part of myself.
bluescreenwhitedragon: Credit: iconic ([Smirk] Going to kidnap you)

[personal profile] bluescreenwhitedragon 2018-08-03 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
And how has that stance worked for you with some of the more--- soft units?
eatsthecanary: (pic#12391648)

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-03 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
By that... Do you mean Heart Soldier?

[ hmm. ]

If I'm being given good reason to cooperate I will. It's a cost benefit analyses for me.

bluescreenwhitedragon: ([Smirk] Fake it til you make it)

[personal profile] bluescreenwhitedragon 2018-08-03 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
That's the most vocal one, but not necessarily the softest. At least they know how to fight back.

But I wonder what you consider a good reason? Good enough that your unit actually managed to successfully form a trust circle in the last game.
eatsthecanary: (pic#12391709)

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-03 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good" in that there's enough benefit for it to be worth it. In that last game - - I knew trusting was a gamble, but Silver had seen something like it work before. So I took the chances, even if I didn't think the odds were in our favor.

It's lucky for him it worked out.
bluescreenwhitedragon: ([Smirk] Mediocrity)

[personal profile] bluescreenwhitedragon 2018-08-04 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh? What would have happened if it hadn't worked in your favor?
eatsthecanary: (pic#12436843)

[personal profile] eatsthecanary 2018-08-04 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
It would've been me paying the price, and I doubt Wild City would be as inclined to trust anyone in the future.
bluescreenwhitedragon: ([FB] These hips don't lie)

[personal profile] bluescreenwhitedragon 2018-08-04 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
But isn't that the point? The ups and downs.

The producers pair two teams that hit the hardest last game with team paladin and surprise, surprise - a ray of hope was found that gives all those teams a fuzzy feeling.

Meanwhile, they also put three squishy teams together and now all their tender feelings are hurt. So the numbers of martyrs and the distrustful have now risen.

By being lulled into a false sense of security, aren't you falling right into the producers' trap?
