[She can help him with his clothes, too, especially if he seems to be struggling at all. Though she does pause when she sees the condition his back is in.]

[She touches the scar gently. As gently as possible really because she's not sure if touching will cause more pain or not.]

I was more worried about it hurting, but...that makes sense.

[She's gonna find a cloth and some soap so she can wash his back]

Yeah, it makes sense. Your body's been through a major trauma. I wouldn't expect the pain to go away completely after just a few hours.

[She will settle next to him and wash his back carefully with the cloth. She's meticulously gentle, kind of like she's had some experience with this kind of caretaking at some point in the past.]

[he seems to sag a little with some kind of relief? had half a fear that she'd get mad and storm off to drag Nya in and insist on numbing but. thank that not happening.

[He said he didn't want numbing, so she's not going to force it on him. She will offer him the painkillers Cobalt bought after he's finished getting washed up, though.]

Yeah, if all of us had been there it would have been...an even bigger mess.

[She watches him with the shampoo as she works on his back.]

[grimaces a bit as he gets some water to gargle and spit out.]

Anyway she squeezes some shampoo into her hand and will start massaging his scalp. Gently, of course, but thoroughly.]

[and that feels so good after all the terrible, honestly. just going to lean into the massages and close his eyes for a second.]

I can still give food a shot... or pick at it. It's stupid to let trauma have a say in appetite.

[Continues to massage his scalp for a bit longer before getting ready to rinse the shampoo out.]

Probably keeping a bucket nearby just in case wouldn't be a bad idea.

[but again, having issues like this is stupid. time to defeat it.]

[When she's done with his hair she's gonna lean in and wrap her arms around him, pressing a kiss to the back of his neck]

[he gives a soft noise of vague affirmation before bringing up an arm to go back into her hair, definitely a return of the comforting affection.]
