This plan had a flaw I should have identified sooner.

Not long ago, I asked individuals to rank their friends. Some would say: "but how would you feel to be ranked lower than you expected?"

And at times Silence would respond: "It is fine, because I expect to be ranked lower."

Do you see the problem? Because I did not—not until the game, when I realized that I people I cared about were under no obligation to protect us just because I placed value in them.
