[ Hello, Idols! Are you ready for a game?

Some of you may have played this before! The area is familiar for sure: today's playing field is an expansive balcony with several mini-tables paired with two patio chairs each, garden umbrellas planted to keep the heat away. You can see the rest of the city from up here, too - it turns out you're pretty high up as you can even see the start of the Rainbow Bridge from here, though the railings are high so there's not a high likelihood of accidentally falling down.

There are a few pink lemonade pitchers scattered around with paper cups if you're thirsty, and some bite-sized chocolates if you're hungry. Cute snack food!

The instructions look familiar, too: it's a light game, with no enforced truth-telling even. No status effects! Just dates!

There are cards on the table, too! ]

Every aggravated feeling in Griffin's chest suddenly turned to jelly. His heartbeat kicked up and there was a warmth flooding his face for some reason... why? Confused, his gaze met King's for a split second, and NOPE. NOPE HE CAN'T HANDLE THIS.

[HE STORMS OFF AGAIN. This time, comes straight back with a whole jug and all but slams it on the table in front of King.]

[ Honestly the sheer delight is plain on his face. ]

Ah, my hero. Thank you, Griffin.

[Mutters, surly but bashful] Whatever...

[He sits back down, leaning over the table with arms crossed and staring away.]

So what do you say we draw cards? Since a date is for getting to know one another better.

[He's not moving to pick up a card, though. Still too sullen in his all-consuming crush.]

[ Drawing a card, then. With needless flourish. #ygothings

He reads the card over, then flicks his gaze back up to Griffin. POKERFACE. ]

"Do you think you're a good kisser?"

[Answers a little too honestly - his voice is quiet, self-conscious:]

[ He lowers the card, blinking in surprise. ]

What, really?

[There's a tightness in his chest that actually starts to hurt as Griffin's eyes flick up to King's, confused like 'why would you expect my answer to be different?' He didn't want an honest response? That's just... how it was.

They dart away again as he shrugs, scratches his nose - fidgety. It's painfully obvious how soft he is under that rowdy shell.]

[Despite the sarcasm, his expression softens a touch. He scratches his nose again, then (lacking anything else he felt qualified to say out loud,) reaches to pick up another card.]

[ He's quiet for a long few moments, considering the question. ]

[Idly, he flicks the card between his fingers. Balances the corners between the table and his index and spins it.]

[ He smiles, the fondness utterly unmasked. ]

[Ah. Griffin looks up at King now, just... basking at a distance at how nice it is to watch him glow like this. He even smiles a little himself, wistful - but mostly just glad for him.]
