WHO: More idols looking to have a good time
WHERE: Game Tower
WHEN: Day 120, morning

[ Hello, Idols! Are you ready for a game?

Some of you may have played this before! The area is familiar for sure: today's playing field is an expansive balcony with several mini-tables paired with two patio chairs each, garden umbrellas planted to keep the heat away. You can see the rest of the city from up here, too - it turns out you're pretty high up as you can even see the start of the Rainbow Bridge from here, though the railings are high so there's not a high likelihood of accidentally falling down.

There are a few pink lemonade pitchers scattered around with paper cups if you're thirsty, and some bite-sized chocolates if you're hungry. Cute snack food!

The instructions look familiar, too: it's a light game, with no enforced truth-telling even. No status effects! Just dates!

There are cards on the table, too! ]

Ah, that's—

[ she smiles, a little weakly. ]

...that's a brave stance to take, I think.

There is no need to speak with such reserve. I am aware, it a stance that sets me up for punishment and punishment I have taken in spades.
softlyfalling: (you needed it shouted)

Ah, it's just... I don't think I could endure that sort of thing. Or, at least, not without caring about something a great deal.
syncintohell: (Wandering about a clockwork staircase)

All things in life demand a price to be paid. Be it a life cowering in the shadows, hiding one's self, or a life with head held high as one's ears fill with curses and the path leads down into hell.
softlyfalling: (don't want to hurt anyone)

Although, it seems regardless we've all found ourselves in Hell, haven't we. Perhaps there really is little gained from playing it safe other than a temporary reprieve.

...how do you feel about what's expected of you here? If you don't mind my asking.
syncintohell: (and know your desires)

[personal profile] syncintohell 2019-05-24 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
I find it a mockery of the profession of idol, but perhaps idols themselves have desecrated our profession well enough that it only stands to reason that hell felt the need to finish the job.

Ah... I know a little about what being an idol is supposed to be like, from hearing Wednesday talk about it, but what about it particularly bothers you?

...apart from the killing, which I'm given to understand is not usually part of it.
syncintohell: (like sand)

[personal profile] syncintohell 2019-05-24 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
I have only met Wednesday briefly, but she seems a frivolous girl. I cared not for many of the idols at home who seemed similar, from their mass-produced appeals to the lazy approaches some took, becoming idols in name only with their eyes on celebrity and the royal treatment that would come with it. But neither do I care for those who took to it as a battlefield, destroying all those that stood in their way and purging the competition.

Performance is an art, and should be treated as such.

[ what IS being an idol we just don't know and it just gets more confusing by the day ]

Ah, well—Wednesday wants to make people happy? I think... there's something worthwhile about that, too.

[ she looks mildly exhausted from the effort of exerting an opinion. ]

But, ah... what sort of performance do you want to do? I imagine not the kinds prescribed to our units here...
syncintohell: (Held in my arms)

[ It's okay, Shu will assert his opinion unasked and unwanted all day long. ]

Correct. Usually as an idol we sang and danced. My unit in particular did little MCing, though I took command when such things were necessary. I recall the shooting of a music video too. Interviews and variety shows hypothetically fall under an idol's domain, but I have no particular interest in making such public appearances for the sake of accessibility to the audience.
softlyfalling: (surely you will be saved one day)

[ what are... half those words

let's focus on the comprehensible bits ]

Ah, so... to you, being an idol is the artistry of song and dance? Rather than, ah, any of those other things. What makes it different from just being a musician, or a dancer...?
syncintohell: (so know your superiority)

[personal profile] syncintohell 2019-05-25 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Idols are performers who sing and dance both, but do not play instruments though myself and one of my classmates both compose our own music. The proper distinction lies in the production of an idol, but it is something I am not certain you have the context to understand.
