[Hurricane's memory is pretty short. He's in his pajamas in front of a bathroom mirror, trying to get his nose to stop bleeding.]

[He asks his mother if she thinks it'll be okay, because he has another sync test today. She tells him to stop acting like a coward and go get his uniform on; his session's in thirty minutes.]

[It takes him a second to get the smile back up, but as soon as he does:]

- cool. Who's up next?

[ she is not a fan of his mother. ]

[ d.va moves to sit beside him, leaning into him as soon as she's situation. she offers up some of the doritos she's been snacking on. ]

[Hesitates a beat, then reaches out to take them.]

[ she's going to pass him the bag so she can drape an arm around him and tug him closer to her. that's cool, right? ]

[Goes easily enough, leaning up against her. He's a little tense for a beat or two, before he relaxes into it.]

I got popcorn and senbei in my room still, too. If you want, we can mix it up and have like the ultimate salty snack bowl.

[ she's glad he's relaxing though, and as soon as they finished mixing their snacks she's going to pull him right back into a hug. ]

She glances at Hurricane, who's trying to pretend that nothing happened, clearly. And she thinks about his reason for his choice. And how--maybe if he'd just been honest......

Well. But she's still the adult. Hurricane can't and shouldn't be held at fault for her behavior. It's not that hard to understand where Hurricane's coming from.

In any case, it's probably better to go ahead and talk about something else. ]
