Where do they come from? And what do they want?

Dunno. They come through the clouds, maybe. Or through the sky. They'd show up whenever it got all red like that.

...dunno where they're from. Somewhere else, I guess. Haven't remembered that part, yet.

If you had asked her before today what monsters or demons might look like... or dark gods, even... she thinks it might have been something a little like that. she won't say that, though; it might be too disturbing for him to hear......

Your mother--she was involved somehow with creating those machines you all used?

Uh huh. She's been working on stuff like that in a couple of my memories, now.

She's in on the project - did some work on the suits for one of the other teams.

[ Then she must be incredibly aware of how dangerous those things are--in order to be able design armor fit to defend against them.

It must be terrifying for her to send her son out there--knowing what a magnet for trouble and a thrill-seeker he is .... It doesn't justify that first memory but... Hiryuu is starting to feel like maybe she has at least some of the context to understand what happened. ]

Those must be demanding jobs for both of you. Do you know if you're able to see each other much?

...dunno. I started staying in the dorm when I was like, twelve? Or thirteen or something.

Anyway, uh. Before that I was staying at an apartment with my ma, in the building they were running the program out of. And before that, we had another apartment in a different city.

That's quite a bit of moving to have to do so young. Was it for her job? Or did it have to do with those creatures?

[ maybe that's one and the same if you think about it in a certain way... ]

the good news is that at least him saying something might have happened very easily communicates to her she should stop asking about it. ]

I wouldn't say giant, but - yeah. It was kinda cool, being able to get moving like that.
