...how come you been holding it in lately? If you think that, about the infection or whatever.

Cuz it's just... been a lot of stuff one after the other, and I'm not that smart, so every time I think I figure something out another thing happens and I gotta rethink it all over again.

[Leans back. It's a proper lean; he's sinking most of his weight into her, boneless and tired.]

Yeah, definitely. I mean, obviously I don't remember if it was any like... meaningful way or somethin'. But I'm a thousand years old. It'd be pretty weird if I didn't know some powerful magicians and junk at least in passing.

Anyway, it's not like I'm friends with any of 'em. Magic makes you crazy.

... but I paid my price. So I'm not as wacked out as Magic Man or the Ice King. And so far as I can tell from my memories, I'm pretty content being the Vampire Queen. So I ain't lookin' for more power or nothin'.
