[ fishes around for her phone. ]

I'm surprised you can just buy one from the shop.

It is kind of... strange. Like, it's just going to appear in the drop box outside? [ WEIRD. ]

[ beep boop. cat purchased. ]

Uh, BRB, I guess? [ time to go to the drop box. ]

[ returns with this in tow. ] Here she is.

[ Holy shit.

He... tentatively reaches his hand out to her. ]

[ she is sitting in d.va's palm and staring at king's ridiculous hair. the multitude of colors is clearly fascinating. when he reaches out her eyes flicker to his hand and she stands up on her hand legs to grab at the nearest finger, mouthing it, which shouldn't hurt in the slightest. she sniffs a moment later, a tentative lick following that, and then she seems completely satisfied, so he's free to stroke her if he so chooses... with his other hand, of course, because this one is hers. ]

[ AND HIS HEART GREW THREE SIZES THAT DAY.

He watches her curiously while she nibbles and paws at his fingers, a slow smile forming. ]

Ah...

[ The cat has won over the cat ]

I think I have a name now too.

[ she passes the kitten along to king and goes to collect some other things from the drop box. the kitten, meanwhile, has stood on her hind legs and is attempting to bat at king's bangs. ]

Her majesty, Queen.

[ - That earns a surprised laugh, as he cradles the kitten in one arm and tentatively strokes her fur while she fusses with his hair. ]

Queen, huh?

[ as soon as he strokes her back she sets her paws on his face and mushes her cute little bean toes into it, streeeetching as he pets. this is nice and she likes it. a lot, clearly, since she's started purring up a storm. ]

Queen. [ he smirks. ] I think it suits her. She's already making her position at the top here known.

[ He smiles as she paws at his face, the purring just encouraging him. ]

She seems like she'll be a benevolent ruler.

I think it's too soon to tell. Don't let that face fool you, King.

[ queen licks his nose and then tries to jump up to climb into his hair, because she wants to be higher up. ]

[ His face looks comically alarmed for a moment as tiny razor sharp kitten claws scrabble at his scalp for purchase, but it won't take her long to get to a safe perch.

Then he just looks... charmed. ]

Hm... well, if she's Queen, maybe that just means she and I will seize that power together.

[ as soon as she's perched atop his head she's going to sit straight up and look around. this is a good spot and she's clearly content. he can probably still feel her purring. ]

Riiiight. I know her weakness though. [ smirks 'wickedly'. ]

[ Raising an eyebrow ]

Weakness, huh?

[ she takes his hand and plops a small mouse into it. one that's filled with catnip. queen immediately seems to realize what's what, so she tumbles down from his head. she misses her mark, but recovers and manages to cling to his front as she leans out toward his hand for a sniff. ]

Check. Mate.

[ -!!! FUMBLING TO CATCH THE KITTEN ]

... What is that?

Catnip.

Meow. [ she's reaching for the nip. ]

Cats love it!

[ He moves his hand closer so that she can pluck it up with her claws. ]

Well then, thank you for making me aware of the best method of bribery.

[ she sinks her claws into the nip mouse and drags it closer, smushing her face into it and flopping into his palm. she starts rolling around, the mouse clutching between her paws as she continues to get that sweet kitty high. ]

I didn't think it'll take much to bribe this little royal.
