[Today there are a lot of pillows, blankets, and so on consolidated in a big pile in the main room with one note that says in all caps FORT MATERIALS. There's also a second note that goes into more detail:]

Hey guys,

I decided today was a good day for a main room hangout since we haven't done that in a little while. Build a fort, do whatever else you want to make the main area fun. I'll come join in a bit, I'm handling refreshments.

P.S. I bought a waffle iron.

[He did indeed buy a waffle iron! Because there's a spread of stuff to eat that's all been waffle ironed to tasty effect. Waffles (naturally), but also quesadillas, grilled cheese and other pressed/grilled sandwiches, croissants, and whatever else you can imagine going in a waffle iron. You can find Hardy with said kitchen gadget seeing what happens when you waffle iron a glazed doughnut for purely scientific reasons.

Oh, there are also two clusters of chilled mason jars of various drinks. One cluster is labeled alcoholic and one non-alcoholic. Helpfully, none of the jars themselves denote what they contain so it's beverage roulette.]
