~GAME~

Who: everyone!
When: day 17, morning
What: GAME TIME

[ today, when the GAMESHOW notification goes off and the phone maps lead you to the game tower, the debris is still everywhere, the lobby is empty, and the elevators are unlabeled. The rules don't appear on your screens until after everyone has filed in, the doors have shut behind you, and the elevators have started up and risen at least a few stories.

your phones light up with instructions at the same time as the elevators all shudder to a stop, and a sharp hissing noise starts up as thin blasts of air enter from the walls and fills the room with a horrible, horrible smell. like straight up sewer rank awful. Luckily you won't have to deal with it for long, since you pass out so fast you won't even remember hitting the ground.

You wake up on the floor of a room with the rest of your unit. Mukuro's face isn't on any screens, but the first thing you might process as you regain consciousness is his boyish voice filling the air, shifting from calmly informative to as energetic as ever. ]

… courtesy of danna's abilities, we have much more exacting control over a much broader range of possibilities. Ah, and the stars of our show have just begun to stir!

Then, let's go over the rules of today's event once more!

[ and then he does show up, waist-up on the large tv-sized screen on the wall, smiling brightly beside a diagram demonstrating different possible outcomes - labeled with T's and B's and X's over "losing" stick figures. ]

Prisoner's dilemma! The max-tension psychological classic, with a secret agent feel~

This one is all about trust and betrayal. Originally, two people would be interrogated separately for information, and told that they would be spared if they turned on their partner. But if both of them kept their mouths shut, then their captors would have less over them and they both could be saved. While if they both betrayed one another, then they would both be punished! For either of them to win, at least one of them would have to take the risk and decide to "trust"~

Today's game is a three-person variant, or rather, a three-unit variant! This means that instead of just one other person, our idols will have to carefully consider the thinking of two whole other groups of people in their decision-making! But like the standard "prisoner's dilemma," only one person each is placed at risk ☆ Just like a sacrifice!

[ briefly, the display switches to images of flower arrangements ]

Additionally, since the idols haven't been told who their partners are, we've provided them with a small means of communication - courtesy of this goryou - for them to find some way to identify themselves, earn the other units' "trust," and get a read on what kinds of people now hold the fate of their unitmate in their hands!

[ and back to Mukuro, a bust shot with the diagram gone now ]

The results this time will be a little more complicated than the original "win/lose" scenario. In this case, even trusting each other won't get a good result. Betraying each other is worse, but only betraying someone who trusts you will save your sacrifice and bring your unit victory~! That's why it's important to convince the other units to "trust" no matter what!

And trusting someone who ends up betraying you - well, wouldn't that be just horrible?

Leeet's go! ♥

All of this is a surprise.

Bad End... ... and Avante. Even after that last game where we got chewed out by them for doing what we did.

Especially given what, ah, Cardigan had to say to Anubis. [expression isn't changing, still that gentle smile.]

... [ the most bitter 'ha' ] Well they didn't hit us, so I'm content with just letting the teams they hit have their way with them.
forgottenmercy: (to take you down)

Re: ENDGAME

I suppose we'll, ah, have to put them back together afterward.

...I might, ah, go visit Taisho later and check up on them.

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-07-21 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
.... right. Taisho got hit. [ actually... he's a little concerned about a couple of people from there too but.

it would be. weird... for him to "visit" them... probably... wouldn't it? ]

... are you close to people on Taisho?
forgottenmercy: (of that cage)

[nods] Ah, Kazuebiko.

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-07-22 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ mm... ] That's the pink haired guy, right? ... wait. [ suddenly does an actual thought for once, ]

Are you the reason he seemed so concerned about our team last time?
forgottenmercy: (the singing voice of judgment)

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] forgottenmercy 2018-07-22 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that's right. [pause] ...Um, yes, I'm one of the reasons, yes. I think he also knows Lucifel, too.

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-07-22 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
... somehow he was really convinced that we had been forced to make the decision we did in that one game. .. you know the one.

[ That one. ]

.... was he their hostage, do you know?
forgottenmercy: (as they light upon the trees)

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] forgottenmercy 2018-07-22 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
...ah, yes. I spoke with him, ah, about it afterward, that time.

[quiet, but worried.] ...I don't, ah, know. I think I'll, ah, go by to check on them in a few hours. And, ah, bring alcohol.

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-07-28 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
We're not even the "bad guys" this time and you're still going to bring them a consolation gift? Ha.

Not like there's anything wrong with it. I supposed if you like this Kazuebiko guy.
forgottenmercy: (the singing voice of judgment)

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] forgottenmercy 2018-07-29 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
I just, ah, want to help them somehow. Because...

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-07-29 10:01 am (UTC)(link)
Because....?
forgottenmercy: (my hands are stained with blood)

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] forgottenmercy 2018-07-29 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd like to, ah, help?

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-07-30 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
[ ... well. half-shrugs. ]

I can get that. Though I'm not sure how that would help either. There's not much we can really do for them.
forgottenmercy: (and drain it dry)

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] forgottenmercy 2018-07-30 09:44 am (UTC)(link)
...you're, ah, right. It's, ah, maybe more the thought that counts? [pause] ...though alcohol could, ah, be distracting...

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-07-30 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. ... I'm not even sure what happened to them. From just looking at them it seems like there wasn't much damage, but... [ well. he knows better than to assume nothing happened. ]
forgottenmercy: (of that cage)

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] forgottenmercy 2018-07-30 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Whatever it was was, ah, invisible. And permanent...

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-08-01 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
... would just asking them what happened be too rude?
forgottenmercy: (of that cage)

Re: ENDGAME

I don't, ah, know. Ah, maybe?

Re: ENDGAME

[personal profile] bevoted 2018-08-02 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I guess it doesn't matter. The only Taisho I really talk to all that much is Yasuragi anyways.

Oh, I, ah, see. I'll, ah, see what I can find out and, ah, tell you, then?
