I admit I looked at everyone's on our unit, yours too.

Profiles are greatly misleading.

Mine's not wrong in that I was convicted of a crime and probably charged with all the rest--but none of that means I'm guilty of those things.

So I don't tend to look at profiles in the first place.

I can see why yours especially would turn you off about profiles. I'm not that fond of mine either but it still wasn't a rap sheet.

You remember any context for your convictions?

Not much.

I just know I was biting my tongue when the owner of the cafe I lived above and worked at was telling me to toe the line because of my probation. Like I'd given up trying to argue against it.

The rest of it was probably the charges that were cooked up by the government after I was caught as a phantom thief. So I guess some of them I could be guilty of, theoretically.

But a little trumped up? Tell me about being a phantom thief though, that sounds pretty exciting.

The one memory I have of it, it really felt like I was in my element.

... before the cops caught me, anyway.

You know if your first memory of being a phantom thief is of getting caught that's not a confidence booster.

I was only caught because one of my teammates sold us out.

I don't know. I just know that I wasn't actually surprised when a detective told me that I was sold out.

I acted surprised, though.

I suppose being a good phantom thief would mean being ahead of the police, at the very least. But still... Your own team?

Pretty sure it wasn't all of them.

How many teammembers did you have?

Judging by voices on the radios we had?

Close enough. I wonder if that's just a good "team" number.

No idea, but I figure it gets too unwieldy if it gets larger than that.

Five to seven seems like a good size for any sort of small-scale or non-military operation, I guess. Not bad for infiltration or elite combat units either, probably.

"Common sense" is very subjective. Hiryuu didn't know anything about refrigerators or stoves when she first woke up, but I knew all about them.

Huh. That's interesting. I do feel like a lot of the tech here seems really advanced, but not exactly foreign? Just incredibly high-tech.

But if it's normal to some and totally weird to others, doesn't that not add up?
