[Huffs, turning off the lights with a snap of his fingers so she can't see if he's blushing or not]

[shifts a bit to settle down]

Wake you up and make sure you know I'm still here.

[Gives her a look which is hard to see with the lights off, but nods all the same]

Fine. Whatever. Try to get some sleep yourself.

[smiles, not that he can really see that either]

I'll do my best.

[Well an attempt at sleep will be made then]

[rollplayinghouse]

[She's not really great at this attempt since it's not particularly late and she's pretty excited about sleeping with Intensity, but she does her best.]

[Painkillers and exhaustion keep Intensity dead to the world for at least a couple of hours. But wow who (outside of Maki) could have predicted that this memory would result in maybe not a good night's sleep?

The first signs are an elevated pulse and a shortness of breath, all the while Intensity mumbling something incoherently under his breath]

[Maki was dozing, at least, but lightly enough that her eyes flicker open after a few mumbles.]

[The words (slightly louder now) are not in English (or Japanese or whatever language is spoken in Faukyo.

And within the few minutes that have passed, his pulse has gotten even more frantic.]

[rollplayinghouse]

[Abruptly she's conscious enough to realize what's happening, and she sits up slightly, looking down at him, hand settling on his chest.]

Intensity.

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

[Shifts, trying to dislodge that hand from his chest and scoot away]

[rollplayinghouse]

[Runs her fingers through his hair lightly instead, and leans down close to his ear.]

Intensity, wake up.

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

[Shivers, making a small noise of protest as he turns his head away]

[rollplayinghouse]

[Tries to slide her arm around him and sit him up.]

Wake up.

[That works, and he wakes up with a start, breathing heavy and maybe a little pale.

First confused that he's in his room.

And second even more confused that Maki is here with him]

Yeah. I'm still here, though.

[she tucks her head down against his shoulder]
