Are you concerned that you may be malfunctioning as well?

[He does not answer right away.]
It may just be I am missing a key part of the picture. Where it would make sense why I would hesitate.
I know it is better Hank is alive, that I'm certain of. And its better he has a positive opinion of me if we work together.

However, for the sake of argument, what would it mean to you if this had been evidence of a malfunction?

A malfunction could make me unpredictable and dangerous.

It would be incredibly difficult. Programming an android is not a simple feat. It would be very easy to do something wrong.

Then, be there some manner of self-diagnostic you could perform in order to verify if you are, in fact, malfunctioning?
One realizes that to perform such an action would probably be obvious to you if you were in doubt, so let one clarify that this question is for one's own edification.

[That's because he broke it before he showed up here.]
There is a safe mode area I should be able to enter and there should be a program to help self test, but I am unable to open it.

Technically I should not, but I believe copyright is no longer a valid concern in another world.

Well, if a proper diagnostic is out of the question, then: do you believe you are unpredictable or dangerous?

[Because he's forcibly shutting down that little indicator, thanks Detective Privilege.]
[He doesn't answer right away.]
I still chose to save him.

This situation was a test that forced you to choose between two goals, and despite intensely strong motivation to capture your quarry, you still abandoned it to assist a man. Even in retrospect, you have verified your judgement was correct in that moment, and thus you have performed your function correctly, no? Is this not a more rudimentary form of a self-diagnostic?

I should keep an eye on it, in case the hesitation increases. People cannot always afford me to hesitate because of poor prioritization.

Another thing you might consider is to find someone whose judgement you trust, and check with them periodically to verify your actions have been "correct." Use them as a control group, in other words.
