[If anyone happens to try the doors to Wild City today, they're well and truly locked]

[And if anyone happens to be passing through the main room, there's a slight young man in flannel pajamas. He has his own profile up on his phone, and he's peering at the telvision screen, where an animal default has been locked in and a position color still flashes, waiting for input]

[He's scrolling through the colors now, head angled so that the hair falls over most of his face]

[ a fox trots up from behind and takes a seat beside him, wagging its tail. ]

[ which animal did he select? ]

Having trouble? thankfully most colors go well with tan.

[He angles his head down toward the fox. From here, it's easy enough to see that there's not much of a face left. He's missing most of his nose, and a large portion of his right cheek, and that right eye has got to be fake, because there's no way the socket took that much damage without destroying it]

[There is a beat, as though absorbing the fact that yes, this fox just talked - another beat, as he evidently decides that's how things work. Then:]

I'm just wondering what the color's for.

[The animal listed on the screen is an owl, though it looks like it's been locked in as the default]

It’s for your clothing. [ childe changes back, appearing right next to him. he’s got five tails, furry fox ears, and a mask hanging on the side of his own head. he sets a hand on his shoulder, giving him a smile. ] Our primary unit color is tan, so it’ll be the accent on anything you buy, but your position color is going to be the color that dominates any outfit you buy. [ motions to his own clothing, which is primarily blood red. ]

I’m Caeli, by the way, your new unitmate, and this is Wild City.

[Another beat, while he takes in the transformation - while he looks Caeli over, the left eye tracking a little better than the right]

I've got a name, probably, but I can't say that I remember what it is.

Not a problem. Most people that come onto the production don’t remember a damn thing, but you can remedy that with memory purchases. For now, pick a color, and we can come up with a name for you… [ taking a look at his profile. ] Hm, not much to work with, …

Abi, maybe, though I’m sure we could probably do better. [ puts his phone away. ] Could do something with your supposed signs too. But anyway, that can be a later thing.

Come on then. [ starts leading him toward the kitchen, though he stops. ] ah, But just so you know, if there’s anything any of us can do to make you more comfortable you let us know. We’re a team, like a misfit family, and we protect each other above all else, especially during games… but I’ll get to those shortly.

What kind of game do you need protection for?

…this place regularly pits us against each other, forcing idols to fight tooth and nail for survival. It’s more than that, but it’s best to be upfront about the inevitable fighting that will occur.

Wild City protects Wild City first and foremost, doing what we can to avoid getting splattered. We won’t go overly hard, since there are also friends and family on other units, but they know how we play, and generally won’t hold it against us.

And I don’t want to see you or anybody else on this team hurt, so I’ll always do what I can for us. [ gives him another smile, motioning for him to come closer. ]

I've got a name, probably, but I can't say that I remember that, either.

The profile name, right? You don't have to keep it if you don't like it. Mine is Teethful, which is just weird.

The information on the phone is also....let's say a misrepresentation of what life here is like. We're a unit and we work together to play games, that's true. And there is an audience, which I'm assuming you're familiar with cameras if you know phones.

That's correct information unfortunately. Not all the games are that bad though, some are tame. Did they get to the whole us being a unit thing? What about picking a color and animal to unlock the doors?
