[At some point this evening (or nebulous "when you are here" time), the doors lock and an exceedingly colourful young man comes out of a new door, grumbling groggily as he stares at the phone in his hand like it's offended him.]

I was going to ask what the status is of this unit, with regards to everyone else. Also, whether there are any unwritten rules I need to know.

Since you're forced to act like a team anyways, wouldn't it make more sense to work with 'em so that they might actually help you towards your goal?

Obviously everyone on this unit is an ally. But--

Becoming friends would only split my loyalties even more than they already are right now.

No! I'm just saying if I go worrying about you, then what happens if I have to choose between you and the other people that need me? It may not sound likely but I don't trust anything about this place.
