[ There is a tall (re: 6'3"/190.5cm), noodley pile of limbs, red hair, and wings that seems to have fallen over the central table. He shakes his head after a moment, not immediately getting up but instead feeling around the edges of the table. ]

...Are you all right?

[ His head lifts up and he cocks it in the general direction of Gigi's voice. ]

Is someone there? ....I tripped over something.

Hello.

[gives a little experimental wave]

[ He doesn't react to the wave at all, not even a blink, but he is pulling himself off the table. ]

Hi. Ssssso.... where am I?

[ He's still feeling his way around the table, reaching around until his hand lands on a seat. ]

You are in the dormitory of future is now.

Would you like some help?

"Future is Now," huh? I like the name.

[ He grins. ]

As for the help... I wouldn't mind an idea of what the rest of the layout of the room is like. Any other surprises, or is the... table? I think that's a table.... the only thing?

It is a table, yes. There are a number of chairs around it, but otherwise there is no furniture to look out for in this room.

Got it. That should be easy enough to memorize.

[ Once he's sure of his grip on one of the seats, he moves to sit in it, draping his wings comfortably over it. ]

So, would I be right in guessing we're gonna be roommates?

Did you get the welcoming message? I believe the phones should have a way turning text into spoken words.

Found the phone.

[ He pulls out out of a pajama pants pocket. ]

Did not find the text-to-speech function. I tried pressing a few random things but nothing seemed to help.

[ The screen does show that in his flailing on his phone, he seems to have selected, but not finalized, a pretty teal colour for himself in his profile.... which is why the doors are probably still locked. ]

Ah, something of import you should know. You are expected to select the colour you will wear in addition to our unit's grey. Do you have any preference for that?

[ Well, there is a noodley mess of red hair and limbs (legs, arms, w...ings?) collapsed over the table. He shakes his head after a moment, cocking his head in the direction of the sound of... hooves? On the floor? ]

[ i mean wings aren't that unusual but the specific formation of wings like that is kind of weird ]

Uhm. . . Hi? Are you okay?

Yeah, I'm fine. The.... table?

[ He pats it like he's trying to confirm that it is, in fact, a table. ]

...the table just jumped outta nowhere.

[ He reaches around, his hands questing until he finds one of the chairs. ]

. . . oh. Oh, you bumped into the table?

[ clopclopclop coming over to him ]

That seems like the long and short of it.

[ Once he's satisfied his grip on the chair-like object is solid, he moves to sit down on it, tilting his head to follow the sound of the clopclopping hooves as they get closer. ]

Uhmmm. . .

[ looking down at her phone, then looking back up to him ]

I'm guessing you're a new member of the unit! Do you remember anything?

Is a "unit" where I am?

[ He shrugs, though. ]

As far as memories... Well, I remember waking up in a room a few minutes ago. Does that count?

We have a book here—it's outdated, but the compendium has a lot of good information if you want to take some time to read it. Uhm, for now, this unit is future is now, and you're my new neighbor!

[ He smiles. ]

That's a "yes." It's nice to meet you, neighbor. You got a name to go with that cute attitude?

. . . Oh! Sorry. Give me a second. . .

[ there's the sound of rustling as she slides off the sheep, and the sound of a latch opening as she opens up the chest compartment to get her hearing aids out ]

Hmm? Sure, I can wait.

[ And indeed he does, his brow furrowing as he tries to puzzle out what the sounds mean. ]
