HSS holiday party

[Tis the season for holiday parties! If you're close to anyone on HSS, you've definitely received an invite for this one off-screen.]

[In the dorm itself, someone has hauled a big pine tree in a planter into the center of the main room. It's undecorated except for the lights, so far, but there are craft materials nearby - glitter and glue and pine cones and ribbons and brightly-colored paper and everything else you might need to make your own decorations. There’s also a box out, filled with the decorations everyone made at the HSS party last year, ready for hanging]

[Strands of lights and delicate dangling snowflakes hang from doorways, and holly garlands give the whole dorm a festive atmosphere]

[Hurricane has been busy in the kitchen, and the table is set with a Christmas ham, prime rib, fried chicken, mini hasselback potatoes, mashed potatoes cauliflower gratin, stuffed acorn squash, maple pecan sweet potatoes, a citus and fresh greens salad, and cranberry sauce. For dessert, there's a variety of puddings as well as Santa's hat cheesecake bites. The drinks include eggnogg, hot apple cider, and enough booze to spread a little extra Christmas cheer]

Don't mention it. We wanted to. [ But there are a few rather specific reasons she had the idea, and she's looking at one of them. ]

Besides, it wasn't all selfless. I never did get to tease you about the fanmail.

[ The tiniest sigh, ] I guess you were a little preoccupied by all the poison, huh. [ Thwarted by plot is the worst kind of thwarted! ]

[ Absolutely kicking herself now for not keeping the thing, it just felt creepy to have it around. ]

Someone thought it would be funny to draw you as the vampire and me as the all-too-willing victim. It went on for 40-something pages. [ Flash of a playful smile, you get it right? Is she going to have to go into elaborate detail at some point? ]

[Slow realization dawns over her her face, followed by a light flush]

O-oh.

Did you...uh. Keep it?

[ No better way to know Nemesis is getting closer to being herself than the blushing! She wonders idly if everyone is so fortunate as to see this side of her. ]

Now I'm wishing I did. I remember the good parts well enough, though.

[Its definitely not as obvious as before, but her body language is still more self-conscious than not]

I mean good as in gave me ideas.

That's the kinda thing you're into...?

Not all of it. [ It takes something very specific to get her into someone else drinking her blood, for example, it's incredibly personal. But having someone be a little more challenging, absolutely yes. Within limits. ]

I'd try anything. I'm not difficult to please, with the right person.

[ Oh that blushing, it gets her every time ]

[Smirks, though her tone softens to something more considering]

...Though I guess I ain't much different. I'd try anything, once.

[ That smirk is definitely interesting -- stepping closer, maybe just a hint too close for a party like this but without being entirely improper. Close, not touching. Tempting though it is. ]

[ Aliza's voice is lower, quite clearly affected by Nemesis's words. ] You'd better stop talking before I ask if you want to get out of here for a while.

[ It's a nice party that people worked hard on, they really shouldn't -- ][ up to Nemesis to be the voice of reason here ]
