Danger Room Training

[Since everyone was up bright and early doing BIG VANDALISM, it seemed as good a time as any to hold that training session he'd been talking about after the dust settled. Even moreso with injuries in their ranks and the lingering feeling of powerlessness. It seemed like every member of Heart Soldier Senshi wanted to be better prepared for what dangers future Games could offer.

Wire's at the console, programming in a training scenario that would push their limits, without actually posing a danger to them. The result was a sci-fi looking training room, with dummies to protect and threats to avoid - all holographic, of course. The lasers only lightly stun.]

All right, pair up. You'll be working in tandem to accomplish your objective: protect the bystanders. I want you all working in sync so that next time, you'll be prepared for whatever comes.

[He disappeared for a couple of hours after BEING A VANDAL, and now that he's back, he's in way higher spirits. Chances are good the window breaking (and aspirin he bought with vandal points) have something to do with that.]

You gonna get in there with us?

[He nods.]

Once I see what you've all got. We'll have to be able to work in any combination, in case not everyone can show up for a game.

So you're gonna be our mysterious intercom voice calling the shots?

I'll be the one tellin' you to watch your flank.

[ Spidey slept through vandalism because his arm hurt, but he's waking up to awesome things. ]

Right? Time to show off your super hero moves, dude.

[But he's going to shove his hand in his pocket and come out with a bottle of aspirin before they get started, then hold it out Spidey's way. Want some?]

[ Oh. Yeah, he really needs that.

Also he's wearing the new outfit he bought - which is a super basic hoodie, shirt, and jeans combo. ]

I dunno if I'm gonna get that far today. Thanks.

Gotta save the flips for when you've got two arms, huh? No problem.

[He hadn't brought it up when the memory was broadcast, but all the fighting in tights seemed oddly familiar to Wire in a unsure if our franchises are the same continuity way - like, it made sense? That people in tights beat each other up regularly.]

That memory bring any skills back?

[ Weird how that works huh. ]

I dunno ... Kind of? I remember doing those things, but I think my body was different.

[ He might have a few new bruises on his face from attempting some things. ]

I wonder if we have the producers t'thank for that, too.

[Could it be that they were altered beyond just memory loss? Wire frowned deeply, thinking on this possibility.]

[ Hiryuu... doesn't really understand any of this. And looks. Somewhere between skeptical and just plain uncomfortable? Which is strange since she seemed very enthusiastic at first, but the more sci-fi and tech-heavy the appearance of the room became, the more pronounced the change in her expression and posture becomes. ] I don't understand. How are we supposed to protect dummies from lights? [ They're lights. ]

It's a simulation. The lights are supposed to represent a dangerous obstacle, like the path of an arrow. But, if it would make you more comfortable...

[Let's do some more fiddling with the console. The futuristic room disappeared, replaced by a rustic dojo - with all the training props that suited the new setting. They were still holograms, of course, and would pass through you with a zapping sensation.]

You can use this mode instead.

Oh! [ She starts, half from the swiftness of the adjustment, and half from the thoroughness. This... this is much closer to what she expected things to look like. Some of the visible tension eases from her shoulders. ] This is much better. Thank you.

[fiberoptic]

Not a problem. I should've remembered you weren't used to this stuff.

[Sci-fi just came so naturally to him that he hadn't considered it. Probably a hint regarding what kind of world he came from, but he wasn't sparing much time to analyze that.]

It's cool. He's gonna put some stuff into that panel and then we're gonna see whatever he tells it to show us.

I see. So it's a kind of magic.

More tech than magic. Like, tools and machinery instead of wands and stuff.

I guess the end result's the same, though. Think of it as some kind of illusion, if that'll help.

Okay, who wants to pair up? I'm ready to go!

I don't have a partner yet.

Let's team up to protect these citizens, Hiryuu-san.

[ MOSTLY. she doesn't really understand how this is all supposed to work but she'll just figure it out as it comes. ]

I'm going first round with Spidey, but dad wants to see how we all work together, so we better take a turn, too.

Sure! We can swap after this round.
