[ shifting just enough to look at them, though her head stays bent, hands still resting on their shoulders ]

[Pausing for a moment to have a What Would Alexander Say moment, because Cardinal they're pretty sure it's not 'screw Lilis' and perhaps maybe they projecting into this too much.]

... Between Lilis's roster changes and John being a dick, —Nobody can control that stuff. It's not your fault you're different, that you value different things. And it's not your job to act differently or change yourself just to make things easier for other people.

Haa... [ it's somewhere between a faint laugh and a sigh ]

It's not selfishness, Amaranth. You have a duty to the people who love you to be true to yourself, whether people 'need' that or not.

[Cardinal hops to their feet and offers her a hand up with a smile.]

[ Amaranth accepts their hand with a slightly exaggerated dip of her head (courtly!) before rising to her feet. ]

Even if it hasn't, avante's bedrooms are already so spacious... I hope you'll stay to give me a proper tour.
