Happy Birth/Death Day Live
Who: Yvette, Dia, Mars, Artemis and YOU
Where: The Park
When: Day 195, Morning (before the game)
[ The natural trees of the park are bare in winter, but a quiet grove has been festooned with gauzy chiffon and silk ribbons in black. Perhaps it's a little too morbid for a birthday, but considering the sense of humor of the Guest of Honor, His Majesty, the Emperor, Tenshouin Eichi, that seems to be the intent.
Naturally, alcohol is in abundance: There are carafes of warm mulled red wine, large pitchers full of a bright-colored, sweet and crazy strong cocktail, as well. Dense and rich Devil's Food Cupcakes frosted with dark chocolate ganache and sprinkled with maple candied bacon and Artemis's self-care beverage of choice, sugary blended drinks from the cafe for the non-booze drinkers, round out the refreshments.
Yvette is dressed like a sexy victorian nun and stands at a podium with arms outstretched ]
We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of the leader of BARiTONES, Bordeaux-san, who was born on this day. By the powers vested in me by the God of Hard Work, Hasumi Keito, I am devoted to giving Bordeaux-san the funeral he missed in death in this life. So please, offer your fond memories and well-wishes, share words of inspiration, encouragement and advice, as many activities common amongst the youth are unfamiliar to him. While our unit, and our Guest of Honor Himself could be desribed as... mmm... "divisive," this is a happy occasion. It is this hostess's humble request that we put differences aside and keep this celebration peaceful. Please have the courtesy to keep your comments positive, or at least swathed in so much simile and metaphor that any disparaging intent is rendered unintelligible. In keeping with the customs of His People, we encourage verbosity: the longer, the better.
[ BARiTONES, zrael, HSS and sensitIV live!! 750 points for host units, 600 for the rest of y'all ]

I didn't know him at all, but... I'm sure he will be missed, in some way or another.

Uh, what? He wasn't born today.

I did rather like the idea of gifts that the human celebration generally does, though.

HEY EVERYONE.
Tenten was like, basically the coolest leader, with the best hair, and if anyone not on BARiTONES ever says anything even slightly bad about him, but didn't experience him actually physically murdering your entire unit with his actual weak sick boy hands, I'm gonna like, burn down your dorm with everyone inside of it, thanks. It's like, totes uncool to disrespect the dead?
Also, his rotting flesh smells like roses, so that's pretty cool. So, uh.
By the power vested in me by myself, I hereby commit his majesty, Emperor Tenshouin Bordeaux Eichi, to eternal peaceful rest in my loving and radiant embrace! He has earned this ageless reprieve on account of being 0% grody! Luna be praised.

[Can't a guy go for a morning run in peace?]
I don't get it. What's the big deal about having a funeral? It's not like he'd get to enjoy it.
no subject
Conventionally speaking, funerals are a way to unite those who knew the deceased, reminisce about the time they shared together, and express their thoughts and feelings regarding the loss. It gives those who attend an opportunity to reflect on life and death, embracing its wonder and coming to terms with the reality that someone has died.
That is, of course, if he were actually dead. Although he very well may die of embarrassment if we keep this up.

I'm really just here for the drinks. He's got a nice hairstyle.

His hair is also wonderfully soft, if you ever get the opportunity to pet his head.

Monologue
Either way she reads slowly and carefully from a small stack of papers, ]
To be born, and to die.
Though I hold little understanding of either, through a lens of a different shape it may be instead seen - to learn such as I am, within this place, is itself the greatest privilege. Still, I stand before you to speak not of my own self, but instead of BARiTONES' Bordeaux - for who among us, of each precious life here, more greatly epitomized poles so starkly divergent than he himself, who stood once as the Pilgrim at the gates, his dolor indomitable?
Yes. A burden so great can be compared only to the dole of the circles. Fate so grim can only be called indomitable. And yet still it is filled with vivacity and radiance as only one born of man could hold - a candle blooming brightest before its last. He graced the stage with wondrous song, his fellows with greater companionship, and offered to us the very same. And yet -
Yet, the cost remains - for all the countless honors in his life, in his arrival here his death has yet to be likewise acknowledged. And so, we who have been so graced gather here to pay tribute to Bordeaux - his leadership, his song and companionship, his ambition and luster - to honor each part of that precious life in complete and equal measure.
Indeed, it is under my authority as the witch of the golden dawn that I claim so - let even the highest welkin ring deeply amid the resonance of our thunderous applause!
[ and once she's done she just sort of shuffles her feet a bit and adds, in a voice way more in line with her usual softness before stepping down, ]
. . . Um, and - I'm sorry if there was anything that was hard to understand... I tried to do it differently this time, but I wrote everything down, so if you need any help, then I'll do my best to explain everything, okay?
