[ You all wake up in bed with your smartphone at your bedside, all of you in your sleepwear.

Good morning, guest stars! You've got new co-stars to meet, a new dorm to explore, and the television in the main room with the "names" of everyone in your unit with flashing empty boxes next to them, waiting for you to each assign yourself a personal color. Or assign them to each other, really, no one's stopping you.

Also, the elevator doors are currently locked. It looks like you actually have no choice but to get to know each other for an hour or two before those open up. ]

[ alright, so their first attempt at cooking for his big brother hadn't gone all that great, and that's still being kinda generous. the kitchen looked like a scene out of a horror movie with all of the mangled overdone steaks all over the place and there was no point in going into detail about the sides. ]

[ but mokuba wasn't about to give up!
and king wasn't going to either!!
so this was take two!!! ]

[ coming back from the store with a cart with the same ingredients from the day before he looked to king, ] Alright, so maybe it is harder than is looks. Who knew. [ the chef back at the manor made it looks so easy! ] But this time we totally got it. Seto's going to be SO surprised!

[ Practice may not make perfect but it does make Less Bad. ]

So I went to the library last night and picked up a book...

[ Since it's not like he sleeps. PRESENTS: a book all about how to cook various cuts of steak. ]

I read through it already, so surely we can manage this time.

[ SURELY. ]

I think so too. I asked around about seasoning and there's not much to be done for the sides, so we just need to make sure we don't overcook anything.

[ reaching the hotel he just pushes the cart right into the kitchen. he'll bring it back... probably. he's got a lot of stuff, ok, and carrying it all back hadn't been an option. NOT WITH HIS TINY ARMS. he starts unloading all the stuff and then he sets to work with king and things ( not sot surprisingly! ) go a lot better. ]

Man, it's like a cakewalk this time. Oh, and speaking of cake I grabbed some stuff for dessert. [ which, let's be real, is the part of this meal he's most looking forward to. ]

[ COOKING HAPPENS and it is certainly more then passable this time - you can only ruin so many steaks before you finally figure out how to cook one right. Congratulations team. ]

Ah? I didn't know dessert was part of this.

[ and there's also some asparagus and an obnoxious mound of mashed potatoes... that have been sculpted ( sculpted??? ) to look like a blue-eyes white dragon. ]

[ there was an attempt. ]

[ stares at king like he's grown at least two extra heads. ] You can't have dinner without dessert! It's the best part. We don't have to make it thought. I just grabbed something I think Seto will at least try. He doesn't really like sweets, but I managed to find this! It's mostly chocolate, as you can see, but it's got some coffee infused in there, so maybe it'll be good.

Anyway! Are we ready to go and surprise him?

[ WHATEVER. THEY DID A GREAT JOB. ]

Well, since it looks like all of our bases are covered - absolutely.

[ time to bring this stuff up to the tenshi dorm. oh, and let's not forget the wine. ~~because we're going to need it to forget the potato masterpiece~~. ]

[ and one trip in an elevator later they're there. ]

Seto! Hey, Seto!! King and I have something for you!!! [ INCOMING BEST SURPRISE EVER! ]

What's with all the racke---?

[What do the two of you have there? Why is there so much food?

Did his brother actually try to cook something and the kitchen didn't catch on fire?]

[ He had supervision!!! By someone who is only slightly less of a kitchen disaster.

But even so, the steak and sides look perfectly delicious. ]

Surprise. [ Shooting a smirk in Mokuba's direction. ] I have it on very good authority that this is your favorite.

[ it might have almost caught fire yesterday... but no need to talk about that today. it’s old news. ]

[ mirrors king’s smirk,
shooting it in his brother’s direction. ]

[ they’ve prepared a meal of filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and asparagus, in addition to bringing along a bottle of pinot noir and a coffee infused chocolate cake for dessert. ]

And look, Seto, we even made the mashed potatoes dragon shaped. [ because at least one thing needed to be dragon shaped, right? ]

Yes, I can see that it is.

[As he glances at the Blue Eyes White potatoes. Mokuba. The steak. King. The wine. And then back to Mokuba again]

This is my favorite?

[Said from someone who probably eats the ration bars out of convenience until the different food stores appeared. And certainly never thought to cook something like this himself.]

[ Intensity... Intensity please. ]

Well, I suppose you'll have to try it and confirm for us.

[ ʕ￫ᴥ￩　ʔ!!! ]

Go on, Seto, I think you'll be more than pleasantly surprised-!

[Very well. Let him just - clean off a spot on this operating table so they can set everything down.

And though he glances up at both King and Mokuba with a bit of nervousness. This is like the second time in so many days that people have watched him eat to see a reaction and it's not exactly comfortable, so---]

[But that is quickly replaced by eating your favorite food for the first time when you don't even know it's your favorite food]

What is this?

Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes, and asparagus!

[ sorry, seto, he had no idea this is the second time this has happened, and he really didn’t think that this could be nerve-wrecking. mokuba just wanted to do something nice for him, because, guess what, he absolutely deserve it. ]

And I know you’re not the biggest fan of sweets, but I found this coffee chocolate cake, so maybe the bitterness of the coffee will cut back the sweetness some... [ he’s not sure. all he IS sure of is that he’ll be digging into it. ]

Anyway... [ just smiles at him. ]

[ CUTE...

King drops into one of the seats beside him, now that the initial reveal is over. Hopefully decreasing the feeling of Hovering. ]

We had to practice all day, but I can safely say I know how to properly cook a steak now.

[The tension leaves completely as Mokuba starts eating. And Intensity looks at him with a kind of fond nostalgia that comes naturally even though he doesn't have all that many memories of him and Mokuba just enjoying each other's presence. Fancy tournaments and car buying, yes. Eating and playing games - not so much.

But King is still not eating, so---

He can expect a forkful of Blue Eyes White Potatoes shoved in his general direction.

All while Intensity addresses Mokuba:]

You're going to be up all night if you eat any of that cake.

[ he almost chokes on whatever he's got in his mouth, because, what!, no, he'll be fine! it's just cake!! ]

[ mokuba swallows and then immediately shakes his head. ] Not true! It's not even that sweet! which means it can't have that much sugar. [ ok, no one's buying that. ] I'll be fine, Seto. [ come on, king, vouch for him and the cake. ]

[ King rears back in surprise when the fork is shoved at him, but then chuckles and takes it, taking a bite.

On the cake thing though... ]

I'm sure he'll be just fine, Intensity.

[ Good cop bad cop ]

Are you telling me how to raise my little brother?

[As if Intensity wouldn't let eat Mokuba eat the entire damn cake if he so much as asked]

All that sugar and coffee is going to stunt his growth.

[ thanks king! ]

[ ...oof. pouts at seto. this is bound to work, but if it doesn't, then he'll be adding this, ] Come on, there's no WAY I'll end up as short as King or Yugi. I'm already almost as tall as either of them and I still have so much growing to do. I'll likely be as tall as you, Seto! Pleeeease.
